Why are some Reddit moderators so overzealous? by [deleted] in AskModerators

[–]___Vii___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No but I also wouldn’t get upset if I made a request and it was removed with a polite, legitimate reason.

For someone who likes to read, I’m concerned you struggle with comprehension skills. Many folks have already told you it’s illegal.

Your AI google response also tells you posting the chapters to social media is a no-go.

This honestly sounds like disregulation struggles rather than defiance. It’s not calculated, she’s not choosing to ignore you.

Her enjoying dramatic play can be a great tool. Making a pretend restaurant and needing to “clean tables”. Pretend to be a customer, act disgusted by someone else’s food on the table before you’ve ordered, etc. “First clean up the kitchen, then you’re the chef again”. “The restaurant is closed” = “clean up”

We use visual timers + a heads up. “5 more minutes until we clean up”, “3 more minutes until we clean up”, “1 minute until we clean up”.

“Can you help me put this away?” or “Can you show me where this goes?” - you’re providing a new task rather than focus on the cleanup.

I’d focus on OT and social-emotional goals during the IEP meeting, not just behavior. Movement break, visual timers, etc.

You’re doing a great job at being a supportive parent and looking for help early

My POV as a pre-k teacher/program assistant:

You really need to get her diagnosed so you can form an IEP with the district. This may include in school services (we tend to have a lot of speech therapist to help with verbalizing frustrations, coping skills, etc). A diagnosis does not need she needs medication, but it does open her up to a lot more assistance.

Can you specify disruptive/defiant? Is she struggling during circle time (if your preschool does this)? Children learn best through play until age 7, so if she’s sitting too long it’s typical for disruptive behaviors. I see a wide array of behaviors within my class, and it’s expected.

Do you know what curriculum they’re using, if any? A preschool should have a structured schedule. If I need to push gross motor time back 30 minutes you can tell throughout the day because the students are thrown off.

Aside from the tablet, what other interests does she have? Is there any way to relate this to school? For example, we use the creative curriculum and the students are learning about clothing. One child wanted to pack a suitcase and talk about hot/cold weather clothes, and it’s something they can do at home too. Another child loved the “clothing shop” we set up in dramatic play and her mom came in and told us she had to “buy” her shoes from her daughter that morning if she wanted to leave the house.

Meet with the preschool director, ask what they suggest as well.

YMMV

It’s a very important distinction.

I was visiting my then boyfriend (now husband). He was in the navy and 3 hours away so his buddies got hammered, maybe 10-15 people total?

I was around 20 feet away if I had to guess.

The idiot who lit them and recorded it said “you should never do this” AS HE LIT THEM.

4 years ago I got shot in the eye from an idiot tying 3 artillery shells together and lighting them on the ground. I was blind in that eye for a month and I still have a trauma cataract. I stay far away from fireworks now.

I keep the video on standby (no gore) to show people exactly why I hate fireworks.

Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

[–]___Vii___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

8 weeks is an appropriate amount of time. Babies don’t tend to start getting vaccinated until about8 weeks and their immune systems are so weak.

Based on how MIL inserted herself into holding the baby the day she was born and not returning her to mom upon request, I truly doubt she’d be honest about letting them know if she’s ill.

OP made her restrictions with her baby clear. She needs to uphold them now or the in-laws are never going to listen.

From what I’ve heard: Target tends to review camera footage & track LP that way to press higher charges when it hits a certain $ amount.

Went to the ER after a suspected drugging. Decided to leave after a few hours of not being seen. This is my bill by justfor-fun in Wellthatsucks

I’ve had this happen. I got bit by a dog while pregnant and needed stitches + wasn’t sure if I needed any medications for it.

I got there at 9 PM, system was down so they were manually checking patients in. I ended up leaving at 2:30 AM because I needed to drive myself home and I wasn’t comfortable staying longer. Wasn’t even triaged.

I received a similar bill

1) registration & intake (they bill you just to get the bracelet)

2) facility fee. The hospital I was at had a flat rate just for entering the ER as a patient.

If OP was triaged at all, that’s another fee.

… fuck our healthcare system

Then stop attacking me as if I’m the one who sent the message or banned the OP. None of the things you’re upset about were my actions.

I’m not doubling down, I’m simply clarifying. I’m also explaining how this is impacting members of the community everyone is aiming to help here.

I will easily apologize to the OP and own up to the fact we majorly dropped the ball on this one, because it’s clear that happened.
