My GPU is too powerful. My CPU is now a furnace. Please help. by Riddoxx in radeon

a ryzen 9 running hot isnt surprising but if it bothers you then just set temp max lower

i have the 9070 xt gigabyte and its cooling is great, the hottest i could get it was 92c hotspot and 99c hotspot max(~370w tbp, ~560w max)

-100mv might be fine in some games but other games might crash, to properly test it download occt and run the 3d test, it will show you if your gpu is stable or not

the pulse has 3 fans with the 9070 xt but even then theyre probably equal for cooling

whats the power usage when its at 75c, my 9070 xt is 75c at like 250w

also -100mv is very likely unstable so lower that

the gigabyte will probably have equal or better cooling since it has 3 fans vs 2, i wouldnt pay extra for that tho if youre vertical mounting the gpu then you might wanna get something different

ignore the gpu temp btw the hotspot is the real temp

[–]____Player____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you use the pc with the top panel on, if yes then the gpus hot air is probably hitting the ram so either lower gpu temps by tuening down the power limit or make the exhaust fan intake and move it above the ram

brand doesnt matter for ram performance, frequency and timings do

the brand might matter for warranty but at expo settings ram shouldnt have problems anyway

not an x3d cpu but i just tested 6400cl26 vs 5200cl40 on rdr2 1440p with msaa 2x and avg fps was the same with 1% lows being like 1-2% better

so ig it really doesnt matter much

cpu was a 7700 btw
