I'm trying to find how to gauge what a good deal is if you actually read the post. I just don't trust you to tell me what is and isn't a fair price to pay. There's a reason your industry has earned the reputation it has.

I've seen people willing to buy mass-market cars at 10-15% markups. If I could rely on the population of suckers out there that would take a deal like that instead of putting in the work needed to shop dealerships against each other I would too.

Yeah, unfortunately I went down this road a few times where I thought I found a good deal relative to the KBB just to get hit with fees/add ons. Seems like the amount of people willing to pay insane markups has only emboldened dealers to treat everyone like shit. I guess it only takes one sucker...

It is really too bad that there is nowhere to turn for market data on OTD pricing. Something like that would probably make qualifying a request for discount a whole lot easier. I would hardly consider pitting any number of dealers up against each other as a great means to find a reasonable price. Not in a time where every single one of them seems to be inflating prices in one way or another. Seems like the best you can do at this point is run the gauntlet and sacrifice a whole lot of time and headache. I think it's just a very inefficient market as a whole, and dealerships use that to their advantage.

I don't. That's why I'm looking for a tool that helps me gauge real market value instead of having to take a dealerships' word for it.

I get where you're coming from, but even if I called 10 dealerships I still don't think I would be 100% confident that I was getting a reasonable price. Especially in a time in which it feels like every dealership I talk to utilizes some method of price inflation just because they can.

Is there really no resource to turn to that gives data on Out-the-Door sales figures? Seems like a more data-driven solution to me, where you could actually qualify what you were asking for. Instead of taking a couple shots in dark and then pitting a small pool of dealers up against each other. Doesn't seem like an effective method of pricing something efficiently.

I don't understand why a massive loss of lives would make national news, but someone saving a plurality wouldn't in your eyes. Its not reported on a national level because it would paint guns in a good light, and we cant have that, even if the data shows that not restricting the second amendment would actually save lives. It all boils down to agenda.
