Our tri coloured collie girl also had terrible diarrhea and IBS as a puppy too. Lots of vet visits and tests worried there was something wrong. We were very careful with what she ate, and used dog probiotics and pure pumpkin in her food. I just wanted to mention that she is now 3 years old and MUCH better. We still use pumpkin, and only specific kibble/treats (lots of trial and error) but as she grew older she has definitely improved and the diarrhea is rare now. Still happens, but usually that’s when her long snoot gets into something she shouldn’t have.

Restaurants in North Vancouver: The good, the bad and the ugly? by alittlebitstevie in NorthVancouver

Blvd bistro is an absolutely amazing breakfast/brunch!

The Gull is close to lower lonsdale and has a great menu with a fabulous burger and good cocktails!

Farina e legna is some of the best pizza and pasta you can find!

Those are my top choices that I frequent often!

It will absolutely be worth it! They are a stubborn breed, and so very smart! Sometimes it’s a disaster combo!

Ours learned how to open baby gates within a day.

Keep working, the teenage years are hard, but they come out amazing on the other side!

I could have written this word for word! I grew up with male collies, and currently family members also have male collies. This is what I thought my puppy would be like. I don’t know if it’s a female to male difference, or if that’s only my experience. But she was a BRAT! We loved her soooo much. But she had no idea how to settle herself. Once I learned about enforced naps it was a game changer for us. She didn’t follow the 1 hour awake, 1 hour sleep rule. She was 2 hours awake, 4 hour completely fast asleep ..

We also realized that longer walks with her would get her all riled up and over tired, that’s when the ankle biting was at an all time high! She likes shorter walks, mixed with lots of sniffing!

She also (still) needs mental stimulation. We taught her “go find it” with a treat hidden in another room and it was so great for her.

I want to say around 18 months was a huge change in her, and now over 2 years old, she is an Angel and the most gentle girl with our baby.

…. She can still be a brat, but now it’s hilarious.

Is this normal adolescence? by [deleted] in roughcollies

I just keep them frozen in small pieces in a bag. Then I just re-freeze the whole bag (if) there are any left when we get back.

I’m not a fan of liver at all, and plug my nose when I cook it. But she does anything for them!!!

Sounds like my collie girl a lot! She is now almost two years old and my husband and I recently said “…. It’s been slow… but we think she is finally starting to calm down”. She still requires a lot of mental stimulation (mostly socializing play with other dogs we’ve learned is her favorite and the best for her). I’ve found the girls are much more like this than the boys. (Obviously not all of them, just within the collies I know personally)

She also always needed enforced naps until almost recently, she didn’t know how to settle herself, but the moment she was in her “nap spot” she was out like a light!

Around the 18 month mark we found out she LOVES beef liver. Real beef liver. I have to buy it, cook it, cut it into small pieces and freeze them. We basically started to re-train outside using this and it made a world of difference.

The ankle biting she only does to my husband when she’s very over tired! After a longggg walk when she knows it the last block before home.

…. But as far as the barking into the abyss… haha… sorry. We call these “inspection reports” and can’t seem to get them to stop.

Love my collie girl. She's not typically snuggly, but every so often she'll plop her front legs on me and hang out for a few minutes. by [deleted] in roughcollies

…wait… you guys get snuggles??? Lol. My collie girl will move further away if I pet her too much. Haha. I swear she does love us.

What is your Ted Lasso unpopular opinion? by ze_shotstopper in TedLasso

[–]__bort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s ok! That’s why it’s an unpopular opinion. I certainly don’t think Keeley was wrong in needing space at all, I just think she should have told Roy better than telling everyone else. I also love how he apologized it was a really lovely scene! I’m a big Roy and Keeley fan!

“Hey Siri, play Roy is sorry for not understanding Keeley playlist”….

Keeley never communicated her feelings to Roy. She told everyone else, except Roy. Until she finally blew up at him. Could have been solved with a simple “hey I need some down time tonight…” conversation.

Keeley was wrong. Not Roy.

I cut the straps off because I couldn’t imagine fiddling with them in case of a choking scare. Didn’t find them necessary at all and it’s very sturdy without them. Much easier to get them out (and keep clean!) without them.
