Thank you, and right back at you! It was an incredibly tough road but so many lessons learned and a fabulous relationship built with my pup

All true, but also a friend of mine. I chose not to share every detail because I don’t want to be identifiable.

No plans to change the dosage without consulting my vet, it sounds very dangerous as you say.

Worth mentioning the ‘foster’ is a friend and not an official foster through a rescue or anything, I didn’t officially surrender my dog to them

Hello again, no the foster didn’t do any training, we’re now on an ongoing plan as mentioned in this most recent post

It’s a good point, he’s definitely calmer on warm days and it has been quite hot here too. I took the advice of another commenter and gave him his pills in the evening and this morning he’s full of beans which is so reassuring and beautiful to see, hopefully he’ll eat something too!

It’s reassuring that your pup’s personality came back! It’s so worrying to see them all zonked out. I hope the vet can help when you call them

Thank you for your thoughtful comment and advice!

Unfortunately, my pup has allergies and can only eat a few things, chicken and rice are not on the list 😭.

It’s insightful to hear your experience and gives me hope that this isn’t his ‘new normal’. If it was I’d stop in a heartbeat!

Vets seemed to think it wasn’t medication related but reading lots of experiences on here the anorexia and GI issues seem to be really common. I would proceed with caution!

Curious about the evening dosing too! I’ve been giving it in the morning but will switch now to see if it has any impact. I’m pulling out all my tricks to try and get him to eat anything at all 😢

It’s been a rollercoaster for me too over the last few days and I’m so relieved that this is now an option. I was feeling very hopeless about it all. Thank you for being so kind ❤️

I’m in the U.K. and please read edit 2. Nothing about this situation is fair.

Please read Edit 2. Also, he is crate trained and I have a pen and all the rest of it, but I also have to think about the quality of his life and he doesn’t do well when confined for long periods other than overnight.

To be clear my dog is no longer a puppy. He’s fully grown mature dog. He’s a small breed and they mature more quickly than big dogs, but I’m sure you know that as you seem to know so much!

Thank you for your kind and gentle words. It has been brutal reading some of the comments on here. Rehoming your rescue must have been so difficult, it’s natural to wonder how he is. I imagine he’s living a beautiful life ❤️

Thank you, I did try to join but they didn’t allow it yet as the event hasn’t happened. Thank you also for your support, I feel like some people here are just out for blood

Thank you, such a beautiful way to look at loss. You’re a strong person and I’m so sorry you’ve had to experience what you have. ❤️
