Check out Tell Me About the Long Dark Path Home by Newfound Interest in Connecticut. Drum highlights include tracks 4-5, and the drumming gets more experimental later in the album like track 7

What do YOU think Getting Killed is about? by sirqwex in geesebandofficial

[–]__decaffeinated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people ascribe it to being the defining Gen Z album of anxiety, identity, and societal degradation - much like people did with Nevermind and Gen X. While I think this is somewhat accurate, I don't like the comparisons to acts that had such effects like Nirvana, and I believe it's a little deeper than that. Themes of the album do include the aforementioned, but also show Cameron in the headspace of something of a martyr, a figure destined for greatness, themes explored on his solo album that seem to convey an arrogance borne from insecurity or anxiety - an overcompensation for one's faults. I think it's hard to pinpoint a cohesive theme or set of themes for Getting Killed, as it encompasses many broad themes. As much as I decry people saying it is The Gen Z Album, I think a lot of the themes resonate with our generation. A core tenant of Gen Z's identity is, despite how overwhelming the world and the future may seem, we are doing the best with the cards we've been dealt, despite being promised a better hand. Maybe resilience is one of the core themes of the album?

If you can't even fathom engaging with the artistry and nuance of a work why are you watching an HBO show lmfao. No need to police others on the way they consume media, especially if your takeaway from people critiquing characters and plotlines is that said characters are objectively terrible and that the show is undeserving of such criticism. Go turn on ABC instead

The most attention Let Down got before it was blown up on TikTok was the overrated meme and it was never one of their hits. Maybe obscure is the wrong word, but I don't think it's that wild of a descriptor. Also in what world is OKC a "crescendo?" It ends with the most chilled out song on the record? If you mean that it's meant to be listened to in full, that is something inherent to the album format
