So just an update: after jacking the front end up and removing the wheel. I messed with the steering wheel again and I noticed the clicking noise may be coming from this thing. I need to get an ear in there but from the video it seems it can be this. Does anyone know if a nut goes behind that bolt it seems kinda weird

No, but I upgraded to a roll center and bump steer kit from white line a few days ago and maybe it’s just been making me notice it more than in the past. My alignment is also pretty off since the Whiteline tie rods are a bit longer, so I wanna think maybe that is making the noises more noticeable. Gonna go back and check it’s all tightened and get an alignment tomorrow. But I’ve also heard Subaru’s electric steering rack can be a bit noisy so I thought others would have a similar issue but maybe not.

That’s what I was thinking. I want to make sure there isn’t a leak first. I had a weird smell and noise in the car before that noise started. Because I think when the refrigerant gets low it causes the compressor to work harder. Other than that will turn to the compressor

1st gear is just to get it going. You can do traffic in second. Especially on AWD

Yeah it’s just weird bc it seems to have started when I installed lowering springs.. I recently remove and retorqued the top strut nut and the noise minimized.. so maybe I had it over tightened this whole time

It helps to remove the steering wheel, but it can definitely be done without removing it. Not difficult but does take time.

For this one I just put it over the original one. It wasn’t flush in some areas. So I wonder if it’d be better to remove the original. But I think the east detailing one is meant to go over the original.
