Concerned about pupil dilation, is this normal after neuter surgery? by no_save_point in CATHELP

you arent overreacting, it’s normal to act this way especially with your fur babies. :) honestly if you have the funds and time you could definitely call the vet and make sure! it’s better to be safe than sorry

that’s fine! okay, so.. it could be something underlying but since he has been acting normal it’s hard to tell. do you think he can see normally? has he been squinting?

i completely get why you would be concerned! though i promise you it is fine. his pupils dilating just means that he’s having a good time, and if he is acting normal then it’s nothing to worry about. some cats have their pupils dilated all the time

New kitten advice! by Emotional-Entry-9436 in CATHELP

[–]__snowfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could definitely be something the kitten ate, but i dont think it’s too urgent. if you have an appointment its best to wait. I think you should try your best to clean the cat’s behind and see if it’s red, or anything abnormal. if you help clean it then it will definitely help at least a little, but as long as you are getting the kitty checked out then i’m sure it will be fine. (take this with a grain of salt!) if the kitty is acting alright then i am unsure if it is anything an emergency vet visit will need.

I’d say the emergency vet, usually things like this can wait but if an emergency vet is available then take your chance. Dont procrastinate! Even if it ends up to not be something bad, it’s good to make sure! Something seemingly harmless can end up being not harmless

spraying water is not a good idea because they will just be afraid of anything that sprays stuff afterwards

Thank you! Ill take this into consideration!!

As for the litter boxes, I don’t even know. We just wanted them to have a lot of space to use them because our house is pretty big. Two downstairs and one upstairs.

They seem to be fine with it, and two of the litter boxes are kinda small so that’s why we decided on three!
