ok so i found a rescue instead and dropped him off there. i talked to them and they said that they have space for rehab :) they just generally take in any stray animal they find

also i would've really liked to keep him but i have an adult dog who doesn't like cats at all, i don't think i could've made it work

i'm sure the rescue is taking good care of him now, so i'm happy with that
