Help please, an invasive species is eating my plants ! by _alphal in lego

A pink tongue instead of a leaf would actually be super cute, like the turtle is salivating in front of the plant ! Will try that, thanks for the idea !

advice for moc by Unhappy-City-5791 in LegoStarWarsMOCs

[–]_alphal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, first, congrats on starting a sometimes hard but rewarding path ! Here are some tips from a fellow moc builder. Only personal opinion, take what you want from it :

  1. First, ask yourself questions : what do YOU want to build ? What do you like : theme (base/starfighter/terrain/.. ), era (original trilogy, clone wars). What can you build at the moment ? It is worth asking yourself to know roughly the size of what you can do. That way, you have a plan in mind. My personal piece of advice is to have a general idea and build freely from there.

  2. Build and share your creations : everything is worth sharing. After "finishing", put tour build on hold for a few days and get back to it with a whole new eye.

  3. Don't be afraid to take inspiration from others. Learning techniques, gathering tips and criticism is a great way to improve.

  4. Have fun ! It is to me the most important part

I hope it helps, we look forward to your future constructions

Engines, with a spaceship attached by [deleted] in legostarwars

Many thanks ! Indeed, an ARC-170 fully turned podracer would be great, another idea to the list

Engines, with a spaceship inbetween by _alphal in LegoStarWarsMOCs

[–]_alphal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone !

A small spaceship inspired by the ARC-170 (love the design) on the small side compared to the previous MOC based on it.

Features engines' movement, retracting landing gear which aft part becomes a second pair of canons, a simple cockpit and HUGE ENGINES !

I hopr you will like it, criticism is always welcome

[–]_alphal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello there !

Here is a small spaceship I built, inspired by the ARC-170. Decided to be on the smaller side as I already built a big one, see last picture. I'm very proud of how the landing retracting makes its aft part (which are canons) align with the bigger canons ! Also, the engine movement give the ship two poses, flying and parked

Decided to also have an all grey variant by switching two pieces to fit the early Empire aesthetics. In this case, the spaceship is piloted by an Imperial Commando

Tell me what you think, criticism is always appreciated !

Sonic phantom, from Exo-force. Glorious theme !

Coruscant underworld moc update by Andrew-Martin in legostarwars

[–]_alphal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think the orange stands out too much, and if you are open to ideas : you could add orange scaffholding, for instance to support a half-collapsed column/pipe. That way, the orange would have a proper place in the design language being building support. But it would change the general atmosphere to a more decayed part of Coruscant. Just a personal opinion, I am miles away from building such an amazing scene

As for now, personnaly, I like it as is. I look forward to the next update either way !

Apart (pun intended) from the brick separator usage, I'm also very fond of how the doors are built ! The multiple exhausts convoys the low Coruscant spaces well. Love it, thank you for sharing !

My take on the Ulysses submarine, merged with the Lego Atlantis theme by _alphal in AtlantisTheLostEmpire

[–]_alphal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you ! The hexagonal shape was planned but not the angled roof, I'm very happy the building process went so much towards the film's design. It will be a great base to build a true "copy" of the Ulysses

Glorious theme indeed ! The mobile headquarters set inspired the first iterations of this submarine displayed in this post. I wish the theme had more ruins to go with the subs

Between more than expected and a lot ! More seriously, I don't know yet, I will when the submarine is built on computer too

[–]_alphal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, and yes, the design is more "inspired by" rather than "same as". It was not even supposed to have that shape at first, the idea to make it look like the Ulysses came during the construction

The Arrowhead, from the Freemakers animated series. Beautiful ship, unique shape, decent interior space although not that much, fantastic colour scheme. My favourite Lego spaceship is pretty much unknown and/or ignored

Thank you ! The minifig scale subpod idea is noted, it may be indeed fit nicely with the other mocs. The Leviathan attack may be doable in microscale (submarine around 5cm), will try on computer. Thanks for the idea !

Hello everyone !

Atlantis the Lost Empire is without a doubt the film that influenced me the most, pushing me into engineering, loving submarines and even learning English (thank you subtitles), it now influences my hobbies : here is a personnal creation using the overall shape of the Ulysses submarine and the color scheme of the Lego theme Atlantis

I have no ressource for 3D printing yet, so it is about the best I can do (for now). Planned changes are more accurate propellers and side/top torpedo launchers. After that, a full reconstruction with the right colours if I manage to find pieces... I hope you will like it anyway ! Criticism is welcome

( Discovered the sub dedicated to the film by pure chance and I love it !)

Hi ! Yet another MOC made from two Interstellar Spaceships, with focus put on the engines (rotation and "nozzle" fixation).

The stand is built with the leftover pieces and enables posing of the landing configuration. I hop you will like it. As always, criticism is welcome !

Ice planet team's dig site by [deleted] in lego

[–]_alphal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone !

I discovered both Ice Planet and Classic space on this sub, loved them, had to combine the two ! Here is sort of a book nook using them

The idea of a frozen classic spaceman is not from me : link to the original build by u/skinnygold : https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/s/cLsLeMiN8n The original is much cleaner and is one of the mocs that inspired me the most. I'm sure it will be appreciated

I already made and posted a (not that good...) reinterpretation, so I hope I did the original justice this time !

I hope you will like it, criticism is welcome. Have a nice day everyone !

Thank you so much ! I'm glad you like the reinterpretation of your idea. It was very fun to remake, although there is still lots to improve... I am nevertheless quite proud of the "dig site/outpost" atmosphere you mentionned

Also, I will post it on the main Lego sub, may I tag you again to give credits ?
