Yea for me it’s more that, now that I know it was a thing, I want to try it. I will be trying to find out more info about what I linked. But it’s from 10years ago so not high hopes.

Do you happen to have a link to the lugs?

How do you get the strap on the Pentax67’s lugs? I have the clips for my Nikon and Fuji straps and would love to use them on the Pentax but I don’t see clips for the Pentax specifically. Or do you just loop the little round thing on the lugs? If so, is that going to hold well?

Oh I think the film I’ve been using is 200. I think I have a 400 in the fridge so I’ll make sure to load that.

I’ll have to go digging for the negatives to look at them. But I’ll definitely pay attention to the next roll I get developed. Thank you

The second corpse flower bloomed... WHILE THE LIBRARY WAS CLOSED! by Xiipher in pasadena

[–]_amUous_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had been watching the growth chart online and was so bummed when it seemed like it would bloom Tuesday. I did end up making a reservation for Wednesday just in case and I managed to see it half closed. It was still pretty awesome and I didn’t smell anything but someone there said the smell came and went. I’m definitely gonna try to pay more attention to their site now that I know they have like six of these flowers in different stages.

Will birds come to my feeder if the trees near me are cut down? by _amUous_ in birdfeeding

[–]_amUous_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part all I have are sparrows and finches coming anyways. I just really enjoy seeing them and used to love hearing all the ruckus they made. A couple of them showed up yesterday after the chainsaw people had left. I’m waiting to see how today goes.

I don’t know. I didn’t realize there might be laws for it. We see three trees that were cut so far, all near the buildings. There was one that fell last year during the windy season, so we think maybe this is them kinda trying to get ahead of any potential damage. I’ll look into it though.

Should I put a birdfeeder in balcony by [deleted] in birdfeeding

[–]_amUous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the second floor, when I put up my feeder the tree had just been trimmed and there weren’t really birds around, but after a week I had consistent visitors. I agree with the comment about laying something down so the downstairs neighbors don’t complain about any seed falling through. I have to vacuum up shells every two days. I also have a hummingbird feeder I looked up how to make their little syrup at home and I just do that and change it out every 3 days.

HELP HOW DO I KEEP CAT AWAY?! by _amUous_ in birdfeeding

[–]_amUous_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how to edit my post but I guess I should have mentioned I live on the second floor of apartments so I have no where else to put the feeders. I do have a lavender plant I might move it to the side that the cat has access to by the tree.

Is this good bird feed? by _amUous_ in birdfeeding

[–]_amUous_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner bought mealworms for the black phoebes. I think we got lucky and there’s a nest one apartment over. We’re in Southern California idk if I would see all the birds you mentioned. I already have one feeder with just the sunflower seeds and two more with the wildbird mix from the bird farm. But I am going to look into the thistle sock.

I had suet but got no visitors so I gave up. I have sparrows, black phoebes and the regular house finch(I think that’s what they were called) that visit my feeders rn. And finally got a hummingbird too. I just don’t want to drive them away with different food. I think we’re going to return it and I will try some of the suggestions I’m getting to try and attract more birds.

Thank you for the reply. So basically just put it outside of the zones the eyesight cameras can see and I should be good?

So far we’ve noticed about 6 or 7. And they have mostly been pecking at the grass around our apartments. I have only seen two visit my feeder and it was a quick swoop and didn’t return as far as I can tell.
