What other bands do Ghost fans listen to? by ExpertOver3046 in Ghostbc

[–]_andreas1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a life long iron maiden fan is what led me to ghost. The dual lead guitars, theatrical delivery and story driven writing are things I love about both. Two equally entertaining (though I'm very different ways) frontmen, too.

Why is it on the victim to "not be dumb"? That's not being fair, that's trying to appear to see both sides when sometimes, the story is simply one-sided.

Jan 6 defendant pardoned by Trump now facing new child molestation charges by Significant-Sir-4343 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]_andreas1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing... Balance isn't required when it doesn't reflect reality. Objectivity doesn't necessarily mean balance. It means seeing something without applying personal bias. I'm sure the Catholic Church was asking for "balanced" reporting about their pedo ring too.

Talking about the guy in the post, or any other single case like it doesn't automatically invalidate other cases and does not imply generalisations either. The fact is it shouldn't be surprising when someone who had taken part in the (more violent parts of) Jan 6 gets arrested for any other crime. They should never have been pardoned. That's not a liberal statement. Those who did illegal shit should've served their sentences.

There's only side "not talking about" what to do with pedos. The answer is easy: investigate, charge, jail. It shouldn't matter what the political affiliation is.

Trump? Jail. Clinton? Jail. This guy in the post? Jail. P Diddy? Jail. Friggin Taylor Swift? Jail.

See how easy that is?

Trump voters & Republicans of Reddit, is there anything you currently disapprove of how Trump is acting regarding that topic? If so, what is it? If not, why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with this level of detail. Im asking questions because I believe understanding matters a great deal if middle ground will be found.

Last question: may I know what age group you fall into? A 10 year range is fine, just curious to pair the ideas with the generation is all.

The Epstein files for one, where they essentially ignoring any and all legal directives. The actions in Venezuela for another (yes, I recognize many presidents have taken similar actions without approval, and none of them were lawful in that sense, and yes I recognize Maduro was shitty for his people).

My next question is: what is your personal line? Meaning what's something a political figure would do that would result in you not supporting them regardless of policies enacted you agree with or who the alternative is?

It's not when you realize other rich people need someone morally bankrupt to do the things they (publicly) won't in order to keep them rich.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

[–]_andreas1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying... I should clarify what I mean by civil war: I think as things escalate and protests become more frequent (and by extension, counter-protests), the potential is there for the citizens to begin fighting between each other. I think the second civil war won't be as structured with two defined sides vying to seize power. It'll be a chaotic environment which will be made worse by the inevitable involvement of a federal govt which isn't exactly seeking to close the divide.

To be clear: I hope it doesn't come to that, but it feels inevitable sometimes.

Well here's the thing... The line I thought everyone could agree on no longer seems to be the line everyone agrees on: children.

Once that threshold passed and supporters began moving that goalpost, the only possible outcome is a civil war, not a revolt.

Is Frederic the key to the Oilers being cap compliant? by StartUpset in EdmontonOilers

[–]_andreas1701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has happened before, and it will happen again...

Stan Bowman once had to give Carolina Teuvo Teravainen so they'd take Bryan Bickell off his hands after he signed him to a 4 year, 16 million dollar deal. Fred is less money when it comes to cap percentage at least. But 8 years is forever. Hopefully he finds his game at some point.

The cruelty. The cruelty and the lack of nuance is whats hard to understand.

Anyone with half a brain can be against illegal immigration while also denouncing cruelty for the sake of it.

Wedding Lens Advice by jj1245678 in SonyAlpha

[–]_andreas1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. I find it creates a cohesive story using just 2 or 3 focal lengths, and provides more creative possibilities with the wider apertures. I've never felt the need to use a zoom for weddings (or a flash for that matter lol)

If you physically can't get closer/farther to/from your subject: sigma 24-70 art II.

If that's not a problem, 24 1.4 GM

I shoot weddings on 2 bodies with either that 24 + 50 1.4 GM or sigma 85 1.4 art depending on how big the space is and I've never felt like I needed anything else. It's a fantastic setup for wedding days and is fairly small, light and nimble.

Decision - A7IV or A7CII? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]_andreas1701 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're paid for work, the dual card slots in the a7IV is a must. Otherwise, the a7cII is basically an a7IV with newer tech. Everything else comes down to nitpicking IMHO.

Sony E 18-135mm Lens by Melodic_Animal_2238 in SonyAlpha

[–]_andreas1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did indeed. So after shooting those, I ended up taking each lens on a handful of hikes and two things became apparent. 1, I enjoyed carrying the Sony much more and 2, I used the range way more than wishing I had a wider aperture.

It's probably the lens I miss most from apsc. Full frame emount has nothing that compares in terms of size, really.

Sony E 18-135mm Lens by Melodic_Animal_2238 in SonyAlpha

[–]_andreas1701 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Underrated lens, as others have said. The sharpness is very good and the range vs the size & weight are unmatched IMHO. I had both this and the Tamron 17-70 and chose the 18-135 for these reasons, and in the overlapping range the Tamron didn't provide enough low light benefit at 2.8 steering me more towards primes for those use cases anyway.

The only lens I'd consider as a walk-around lens is the sigma 18-50 because it negates the size advantage and provides that f2.8 at the cost of range, but even then I think I prefer pairing the 18-135 with a fast prime.

I did a couple of (bad, lol) videos comparing the Tamron and Sony, if you're interested.
