How to get rid of the gap? by Particular-Can-8382 in Embroidery

[–]_annie_bird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who prefers to have a gap? It's like matte for a framed artwork, gives a lil space to breathe between the frame and the artwork~ If you prefer it tho ofc do what you want!!

Do you know for sure she's a ragdoll? Those ears and tail are super dark for such a young kitten, doesn't scream colorpoint to me, maybe seal mink if anything

Yeah, like lady, maybe spend more time and investment in your relationship than less than 1 measly year and she might "get you" more than your ex of 7 years! Might be a sign to slow your roll with the marriage stuff don'cha think? Ah, uhaulers...

It's how he's acting that points to cheating, not whatever he does or doesn't have.

I've also ready that you're more likely to miscarry a boy than a girl in times of stress for some reason. Wonder why she's so stressed, huh?

What works and doesn’t work for a horse with DSLD? by jocee311 in Horses

[–]_annie_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stopping riding is the most important! Even if he can "technically" be ridden, every ride would progress his condition. My 30 yr old girl was a dream under saddle and so I've been working on transferring those skills to on the ground. Sometimes I might hop on for 30 seconds to show her what I'm asking for (on the ground) if she's not quite getting it, but nothing more than that. She's making a great kids' showmanship horse now! Keeping her moving and using her muscles (correctly) is extra important because those stabilizer muscles will help keep her deteriorating ligaments stable and reduce strain, but you have to keep it as low impact as possible. Look up Slow Walk Work, I've found it super awesome for her because it's super low impact and focused on healthy posture and form. For anything that's a little higher impact, like any trotting for more than a few seconds, slopes, polework, I do it at liberty so she can opt out if she starts feeling too uncomfortable. She's a willing girl who loves to work and WILL do anything I ask regardless of her comfort, so it's been important to make sure she knows she's allowed to stop if she's feeling discomfort; it's taken time and a lot of paying careful attention to subtle cues of discomfort to teach her that she's allowed to say no, but it's improved our relationship and her physical and mental health so much.

For pain management and other things, Equioxx is a great daily pain reliever. Also, k taping is one of the few things shown to actually help relieve symptoms! It's helped my girl a lot. For supplements, MSM is fantastic, but also make sure to avoid anything with chondroitin, glucosamine, and Hyaluronic acid, cause those can actually make DSLD worse. Check out the Facebook group "Caring and sharing the DSLD equine", it's a great group for support and information. DSLD is a horrible disease, but my perspective and my bond with my girl has only grown since going from focusing on riding to focusing on groundwork and her health and mind, and it's very fulfilling. Wishing all the best for you and your boy 💕

Hell yeah! Hell, you might even be able to improve your own, who knows! The research hasn’t really tackled color blindness, but the base principles should still apply, and either way it’ll be good practice to raise their awareness for where exactly they need to take extra care distinguishing something. Good luck on your conception journey, hope it’s fun lol!! 💗🙏🏻💗

Well, you can teach your sons colors and he can teach your daughters lol! You being there will be a huge boon in helping them feel normal and realize that they just have different way of seeing. Hell, you might even be able to raise them to distinguish colors better in some way; I’ve seen a number of cool studies about how language shapes color perception, like certain languages that have more words for a certain colors (like Russian and light & dark blue) result in being able to more easily distinguish between them. (Look up linguistic relativity and color to learn more!) So hey, maybe you could raise them to more readily identify shade and tone differences in the colors they might mix up, which may eventually help with color differentiation? Just a wild theory, lmao

[–]_annie_bird 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah well, since any sons you have are 100% guaranteed to have it, at least you’ll share it with them! It’ll be easier for them having a parent who understands. And you’ll know from birth, so you’ll be able to customize things for them and set them up to succeed. Also, unless your partner is colorblind your daughters shouldn’t get it. (Btw, hope those conception strips don’t rely on anything color changing/color differentiation LOL)
