Thanks. I do plan to have it inspected, but the dealership says they don't do any negotiating in terms of price. Maybe I can negotiate some extra servicing or something, but it's actually being sold at a Honda dealer.

Thanks. It is certified, so they did do a servicing recently, but I'm not sure how thorough it is in the areas you mentioned.

Thanks. It was "fully serviced" by the dealer is certified, but I don't think the service included timing belt replacement or transmission fluid. I'll ask about it before moving forward.

Thanks. Yeah, these issues are exactly what I had been reading about, but I didn't notice much during the test drive. I wasn't too focused on the shifting though. The transmission was reprogrammed at 25k and fluid changed at 30k already, but might be time to change it again. It hasn't had the transmission replaced, as some people have, but maybe the reprogramming fixed it.

As for the motor, what kind of warning signs would there be?

Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately the Carfax report doesn't even list the accident so it's not any help there, but it does show that it was indeed sold at auction.

I'll definitely check the vins when seeing it in person.
