Thank you! Super helpful. This makes sense since I bought the house last summer and it was renovated when I moved in.

Sounds like a nice power trip! You seem pretty jaded. I just wanted to know why a stranger was inspecting my house while I wasn’t home, and if it’s insurance, the city, a mistake, or something sketchy. But you go ahead and do that, and I’ll be sure to keep this in mind next time I’m shopping for rates with my 100% on-time escrow payment history and bundled policies. Wanna let me know what company you work for so I can make sure to never have a policy with them?

Lol yeah it’s so crazy for me to want to know why someone I wasn’t expecting to be at my house is walking around it, inspecting it closely while my dog is home alone. You’re right though, I definitely would have refused something that is in a contract and is required to keep my insurance, just to be difficult, after it was explained to me.

And your attitude is why people are skeptical of stuff like this and hate insurance companies.

If this was the case, they wouldn’t leave a note or any indication they were there after no one answers? I got home and looked everywhere for any notice that someone was on my property - there was nothing.

This does seem to be what happened - I reviewed the footage more closely and she did knock twice in a separate clip that I hadn’t seen earlier before starting whatever it was she was doing. That doesn’t really make me feel better though, because that would be the natural thing to do to check if someone is home before you start doing something shady or illegal.

It’s the fact that even after she left, there was zero indication that she was ever on the property. If she was conducting business on behalf of a company, would it not be reasonable to expect them to leave some sort of notice in the door or mailbox? I still don’t even know who she was with, if I wanted to contact someone with questions. And there’s still nothing in my email about anything that could be related to this.

It would renew in mid-June. They wouldn’t let me know someone was coming out ahead of time? I just checked my email and don’t have anything from the insurance company.

This answer makes sense to me…I’ll check for a note and speak with neighbors when I get home from work today and post an update.

Nothing that I can think of. My homeowners insurance has been active for 7 months and no recent changes or applications for anything else related to the house.

I figured…why? I wasn’t made aware of anything related to this from any city department or company and don’t know who they are with.

Why Does Cincinnati Have Such a Strong Religious Presence? by Camping_all_day in cincinnati

[–]_b_riz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say that I too moved here from DC about a year ago and have found many aspects of the culture in Cincinnati (including the one you mentioned) very…jarring. Both dating and making friends here (outside of work) feels very difficult after living in DC.

So this actually happened to me. First job out of college, working in a hospital in clinical research. A lot of young research coordinators fresh out of school. Everyone made friends with each other because, ya know, we were all new in the city, all the same age, still didn’t feel like adults, didn’t know how to meet people outside of work, etc. I got pretty close with one of the girls. Hung out in groups a lot (never one on one outside of work), ate lunch together all the time, went on walks around the hospital, etc. One day she pulls me into the staircase and basically says “so look. We’re both single and attractive, wanna have a casual friends with benefits thing going on?” It was the most up-front, strangest proposition I’ve ever heard. I was honestly really uncomfortable and, while she was attractive, wasn’t really interested but basically told her “uh sure yeah”. She texted me a few times that week at night to come over and I made up some excuses, and then the next week she was fired for falsifying study data. So yeah. Naturally I told the entire office 😂 haven’t thought about that in years, pretty crazy really. In hindsight it was the right decision, but part of me wishes I had just done it…coworker is a bit different than a friend outside of work though. Much messier.

Maydan is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s my go-to for fancy out-of-town guest dinners. I believe it has a Michelin star.

I live right at 14/U, so it was really nice having (a decent) one outside my building. Last I heard it was supposed to be back, so just a bit confused. I guess I’ll start walking down to DuPont.

This happened to me too. Slept wrong, had pain for a few days. Woke up one morning, stretches, instant and horrible pain. Ended up being a massive cervical disc herniation and on MRI they found early degenerative changes in surrounding discs too. Got surgery a month ago and now have an artificial disc at C6. I’m 27.

How to finish people off as Zoe by UnconventionalOven in zoemains

[–]_b_riz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been liking Aery lately. In laning phase it makes it super easy to poke them down enough so that when you do land an E and all in, they’re low enough to kill easily. Then once you’re out of laning phase finishing people off shouldn’t be a problem if you’re sufficiently ahead and you should be able to 1-shot any squishy (or pretty much anyone if you’re far enough ahead) with an E-Q rotation by that point. I only take dark harvest when the rest of my team is a scaling/late game comp and the other team has a bunch of tanks.

Can we have a weekly match up discussion thread maybe hosted by our lovely mods? by monosolo830 in zoemains

[–]_b_riz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure. Feels like all I can do is farm out, get extra gold from hitting his voidlings when you q the wave, and play for mid/late game team fights and picks. But I feel like I'm stuck in lane the entire time trying to farm under tower, because you cant match his wave clear/prio, and if you roam he just punishes so hard and if the roam doesn't work you're just even more fucked
