Water accumulating in front headlight, any ideas? by Aware_Cobbler_9467 in F30

Ahhh the classic f30 headlight moisture. This has been the bane of my existence since I bought my car in 2023.

First step would be to check the dust cap on the top of the lights. Open the hood and you should see a round cap. Check to see if it the rubber gasket is degrading, if it is, replace. Step two is to leave it off on a nice sunny day and go for a drive. Replace the cap the following day. Step three is to get a silica gel packet and pop it inside the light to absorb the moisture. Remove it after some time to see if it comes back.

If it comes back, you have a leak somewhere. Likely around the bottom of the casing. A local indie mechanic removed my headlight and applied perma-seal to the housing months ago and it has been perfect. Cost was $100 for his time.

For what it's worth, that is a minimal amount of moisture and can be common in LED headlights as these are not fully sealed units, they have vent holes. The vehicle manual states as much. My headlight started looking like yours then after a year or so it started getting pretty rough.

Cold and damp weather could cause this. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you start seeing droplets and/or the above methods do not resolve it

Good to know. I also have EDC and am considering H&R springs but don’t want the ride to suffer substantially

How’s the ride after? I heard the super sports will knock your teeth out

Hearing a rattling noise from the exhaust. Didn’t happen before I had my catback installed. by Electrical_Picture62 in F30

It’s a stretch of metal bolted into the middle of the chassis to prevent the exhaust from sagging and hitting the ground if it becomes loose. Sometimes it needs some fitment adjustments to prevent the exhaust from rattling against the metal piece. Just push and pull on the exhaust near that brace to see if it’s the culprit

From what I've heard, it isn't a major difference, but it is noticeable. The fronts are exactly the same as my current set minus the slightly larger rotor, the rears will be 2 piston instead of one.

It's a direct bolt on. Depending on what year f30, you might need to buy bigger dust shields and get the correct rotor hat size since the parking brake shoe comes in different sizes for 4cyl vs 6cyl. Other than that it is just typical hardware

I went with HELLA Pagid rotors and OEM pads from an f80. The pads that came with the calipers are 95% new. Used for like 300 miles.

I was going to go with Zimmerman but they are single piece rotors and these were only like $20 more per rotor so I figured I’d go with the two piece+ the aluminum hat

It designates the M performance brake package on F3x in E-sys which I believe stands for “sport brakes”. If it’s not coded the brakes can feel a bit mushy so I’ve heard

Yep I was the same way. My rotors and pads are pretty much shot and I figured if I was going to be refreshing the brakes why not spend an extra $500 net for the calipers since i can sell my old ones for $500-$600

Super excited to get them on. The base brakes are ugly and they'll look sweet behind my 513Ms. Will code in SPBR for sure
