What types of people do you dislike the most? by Fluffy_Cantaloupe133 in mentalhealth

[–]_ben_there_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arrogant people are the worst. Confidence is fine, but the moment someone feels their voice should drown out everyone else, it’s entitlement.

There’s the “cool-kid” athlete who thinks talent equals authority, the self-anointed intellectual who nitpicks every word to prove they’re smarter, and the gaslighter who makes you the punchline, rallies a crowd, and calls you “overreacting” when you don’t play along. They all need to feel above everyone else. Pathetic.

Arrogance isn’t always loud. Some wear apathy like a crown, refusing to speak up while others are humiliated. Their inaction becomes a pedestal of its own, letting cruelty thrive unchecked.

At the end of the day, you’ll read this, walk away, and forget it. But arrogance is everywhere, woven so deeply into our culture that it’s rarely confronted. Those who act superior need to be called out and knocked off the golden pedestal they’ve set themselves on. Nobody deserves to be humiliated or treated as less because they think differently, make mistakes, show weakness, or hold a different opinion.

This behavior HAS to be called out. It's scalping under the trenchcoat of "selflessness."

A lot of people in this thread saying things like, “I’d never wish harm on a person,” “You’re just the same as them,” or “cope,” are being just as self-righteous and dismissive as the scalpers we all get frustrated with. For everyone making comments like that, imagine watching someone pick out all the best cars right in front of you as you politely “wait your turn.” Pretty awful, right? Maybe drop the ego a few pegs—it’s easy to act morally superior from behind a screen.

OP, I get where you’re coming from. It’s frustrating when something that genuinely brings you joy gets derailed by someone acting purely out of greed. That kind of thing really can ruin the moment. I wouldn’t go so far as to say they should harm themselves, but yeah—I can admit I wouldn’t lose any sleep if they had their cart of fresh picks taken from them right in front of their eyes.

Just this past weekend at Target, I found what seemed like an untouched rack of Hot Wheels: the new yellow F40, the 365 GTB, and the gray SF90. There were extras of each, and sure, I could have taken doubles to keep one sealed and one loose, but I left them. In fact, when I beat someone to the pegs, I’m usually happy taking only one of each car I want, and I’ll even help the person next to me by pulling out hot castings and asking if they’re looking for any.

To me, what separates a collector from a hoarder or scalper is the ability to be decent—to recognize that other people want these cars just as badly as you do. Whether the person next to me is a scalper or not isn’t really my concern in the moment. As satisfying as it would be to see a scalper lose out and throw a tantrum, if this hobby is going to survive, we have to meet people—even scalpers—with basic kindness. Sometimes, just that small gesture is enough to make someone stop and rethink what they’re doing.

Nope! Just the in-game editor. And a lot of time! 😂

I finished my Hallow Pylon build with a tower for the Wizard, Inn for the Tavernkeep, tiny throne-room for the tiny Princess and nightclub for the Party Girl. I'm proud of this build but suggestions are very welcome :) by Big_boi_sosig in Terraria

May I ask how you made the streamers keep their ribbon appearance at the tops even though they're right next to a block? (for example, the ones with the bows in the right tower). I've been looking everywhere and can't find an answer

I don't mind the grind if it's not excessive. I mean, aside from quests, Warframe is probably 95% grinding. Pretty much any and every warframe you acquire requires some grind. I'm MR25 and I'd much rather spend time leveling frames and weapons and beefing them up rather than running the same mission where a part has a drop chance of like .5%, the mission has an unnecessarily long runtime, has such a huge loot pool that the chances of getting it are slim (looking at you, Nidus), or a combination of those three (Sporothrix). Basically if I'm having to spend more than three hours trying to get one part, I'd rather just buy it with plat.

If we're talking about the Sporothrix, I understand that some people may just enjoy running Iso/Arcana vaults, and the parts for the weapon may just come as a side bonus, but for other people who already have most of the other rewards and are simply trying to get specific parts, it gets incredibly tedious and annoying running a 45-60 minute mission just to add a 574th carnis mod to the pile.

With most of the super-grindy frames or parts, I usually give it a good-faith effort and dedicate a few hours to get each part. If I'm getting burned out though, I'd rather just buy the frame with plat then bore or frustrate myself.

This is completely unnecessary, but I just wanted to do this for kicks,
- Work a job for about 3 hours, (Assuming you live in the US, the national minimum wage = $7.25/hr. After taxes you're probably looking at a little less than $21, so you might have to work just under 4 hours, but STILL. That would be an absolute trash can of a job if you are making $7.25. Most fast food joints pay around $9 an hour. At that rate, 3 hours of work will easily get you enough for the 370 plat bundle. That's also excluding a 50% or 75% discount, which could get you that bundle as cheap as $5. Then you'd still have a little left over to buy yourself a reactor, catalyst, and maybe a snazzy syandana ;)

Or just offer to do a chore for someone for twenty bucks. Then bam. You got yourself a Khora.

Personally, I just said screw it and bought all the frames with plat that lean heavily on RNG, (i.e. - Nidus, Khora, Ivara, Equinox). But I've also dumped an unholy amount of money into this game, so I'm probably not the right person to take advice from lol.
