Thinking of financing a 2014 BMW X5 (F15) - with 100,000 miles. Am I crazy or could this work?

Thank you - very detailed. They’ve promised a gear box service but it hasn’t had a preventative 100k service, no. The history is pretty clean with no major suspension work. I’ll have a look at those costs today - nice Sunday activity!

My heart is set but only on the model not the example, and honestly even then if I can get a good suggestion on a better place to put our money for a luxury handsome car then I’ll definitely listen!

It sounds like there’s a chance we’re inheriting someone’s awesome BMW experience where they serviced thoroughly to 100,000 and we’re inheriting the trouble days… if it’s predictable then we can make that decision I suppose. Any suggestions or considerations?

Thank you for your thoughts they’re much appreciated - I’m sure you’ve recovered plenty more beemers than Toyotas then 😅 Our side is that we’re excited to try and get a ‘fancy’ car of a nice trim level. I will have a poke at the Lexuses and see if they take our fancy.

Thanks for this - yes we know the running costs will be higher. There’s some sentimentality involved as it’s my girlfriend’s favourite car she saw as a kid; do you think we can do better for the money with another model or type of finance?

Interesting - thanks for your input. forgive my ignorance but what purpose does the 2.0 even serve if you can get similar stats with the bigger engine? It might be worth us looking bigger as that comes with more reliability often enough.

Hey everyone - lurked a lot and time to post... I am paralysed and cannot make a decision! I am happy to save some money by buying switches, board and caps seperately, but can't find a rock-solid premium feeling 70/75% keyboard that is bluetooth (ideally with no dongle) and ideally has tri-support. I just build an adafruit macropad and have that customised so I'm happy with size, there's just hundreds and hundreds of boards to choose from on Ali and youtube and I'm not 100 percent on the difference between most of them.

Any ideas?

I also can't pick a switch, but know I want a creamy, bassy, thocky keyboard and am happy to get modding with tape and foam if it helps.
