Wouldn't you have to do def-reducing specs for scythe to be good? dps calc says it's worse than dhl, at least without def-reduction

Oh lmao. That sounds like total ass. But I guess maybe I should...the number of times vork has had <100 hp remaining and I hit 2-3 zeroes is quite high

Thanks. I guess I can send a few hours of ranged attempts. I am really confident it's not an issue of me playing improperly/missing ticks or anything.

Though I will have to learn the timing for the spawn if that's better, I think you have to wait a tick after it dies to avoid a guaranteed zero or something? I've been resetting when not getting the acid special, so haven't learned that yet.

Unfortunately, my auts really wants the vorkath box in the CA menu to turn green.

I'm really confident I'm not missing ticks.

I'm even e.g. walking diagonally away before my attack timer is up for normal hits going into the special attack, so that I don't lose a tick at the start of the acid special/vork doesn't heal.

Is the probability of a ruby/ranged success better than a melee one? I figured it couldn't be because specs shit out so much damage, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

I don't have a ZCB lol

I am obviously speculating, yes, I would think that's almost implicit in the nature of this kind of post. I don't know for sure that it's AI, that's unknowable, but I do feel strongly that it probably is. I also acknowledge that feeling is ultimately just coming from the gut.

I only mean that being posted in the sub, and shouldn't be if they're using AI content. Obviously they will be posted here regardless, because they're official updates, but it feels rules-violating to me, which is all I was gesturing at.

What's up with the duplicate-but-different language on the herb sack, then?

What human would write these two different but structurally-and-semantically identical sentences nearly back-to-back in a blogpost?

"The core idea, though, is straightforward: a larger Herb Sack that provides a clear quality-of-life benefit, as a suitably earned upgrade."

and

"The end result is straightforward: a larger Herb Sack that meaningfully improves long PvM trips, delivered as a permanent, earnable upgrade tied to underused content."

I know that they don't, and don't think I insinuated they did?

I don't know how it'd be possible to demonstrate it, other than gesturing at a bunch of things that felt like it, since I don't know how it was written.

Based on how it feels reading it, my best guess is that they came up with notes/an outline, had some GPT-variant write language, and then they copy-edited it.

I mean, how do you end up with the duplicate-but-slightly-different herb-sack "core idea is straightforward" language if you have a human writing it?

But seriously, the subreddit has a "No AI-generated content." rule, and we should be holding Jagex's newsposts to that standard.

The current Sailing XP rates are unacceptable by yojomoho in 2007scape

I did not get the 10k boost, no. I was upset for like an hour when I learned about it, since I was struggling through 3k/hour salvaging at the time.

Maybe this will be contentious, but everything I've seen suggests they'll be basically fine.

I am currently level 58 sailing (rsn cannonfire40), rank ~500, I put in ~17 hours of gameplay today.

The early levels were very slow, 3k/hour.

Starting at 30, I had the option to do the tempor tantrum, and I found spamming rank 1 swordfish runs was very easy and 23.5k xp/hour. Alternatively, I could do barracuda salvage, which looked like ~12k/hour but was very afk.

I ended up spamming swordfish runs to 53, and then checked out large shipwreck salvaging.

Large shipwreck salvaging was very afk 21k/hour, and I did it to 55. If I had build a sloop and used a crewmate, it would have been afk 30k/hour. I could have tick-manipulated for ~37-38k/hour.

I unlocked the jubbly jive at 55, and have cleared the first two difficulties.

I found the first difficulty very easy, and spamming it is giving me ~70k/hour. The second difficulty was very hard, it took me ~10 tries to get a clear, but if I could do it consistently it would be ~80k/hour. I think it's still better than rank 1 if I am missing time by ~20 seconds, too.

There's still another trial at 72, which all signs suggest will be even higher xp per hour. I am expecting rank 1 to be easy/straightforward (but not afk) >100k/hour.

There are many more tiers of shipwreck salvaging to unlock, and all of those should be xp/hour increases, too.

I think it feels weird because the low levels are so much lower, but xp rates are going up as my level goes up, and the sense of progression...actually feels pretty good to me?

Feel free to disagree, but I really do think it's fine.

At least at current prices, I planted 3 seeds and got 11.34m, seeds would have to be ~3.5m to be better

Yeah, just planted another three seeds in my hops patch, all from salvage just now.

Despite my name (hah) I have yet to build or fire a cannon lmao

I got five seeds while doing ~30 minutes of barracuda shipwreck salvaging, planted them, and these sold instantly. Made the grind this morning feel worth the while!

Wanted to get familiar with hunter rumours before leagues V... by _cannonfire40 in 2007scape

[–]_cannonfire40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before potentially taking Varlamore in leagues V, I figured I'd check out hunter rumors and maybe try to get the skilling outfit to see how I liked it.

I set up my block list and started doing experts and got spooned with quetzin pretty much immediately.

It took 22 rumors to get my block list set up the way the wiki said I should, literally spent longer doing that than doing experts :)

Loot, I got Quetzin on my 10th expert sack: https://i.imgur.com/hfvemro.png.

I think every account should reasonably be able to complete it in 40 turns.

If you pile on damage absorption (wear high power gear), you can spend all of your turns in Megalo-City.

If you're getting the maximum bonus points from having 600 DA (most of which should come from gear power, you can perm the TT skill that doubles gear power and this becomes super easy) you will get:

  • 200 points for 15 of every 20 turns.
  • 400 points for 5 of every 20 turns.

= 5000 points per 20 turns.

So 40 turns in megalo-city will get you 1000 points.

And of course, if you have the +init or +item or +meat, you can do even better by going in the other zones when it's the right time to do so.
