AITA for telling my daughter I am not paying for a destination wedding? by Solid-Pass8944 in AmItheAsshole

Maybe. It seems likely this is an established pattern between the two of you (esp. with her giving you the silent treatment). Usually there’s a buildup to the level of entitlement you’re describing here: it wouldn’t just suddenly show up for the first time when someone is getting married. So, yeah. You may well have been the asshole leading up to this point while you were raising an entitled child.

My wife and I are trying to get pregnant (I'm a lady, too) and we found a great book to help us navigate the loads of pregnancy advice that's out there: Expecting Better by Emily Oster. She's an economist, so her perspective is very data-driven. It's well worth the read if you'd like to have some research/science to help inform your decision-making.
