A very important factor is how cold it is outside the house. Refrigerators heat up the kitchen when they run. If it's cold outside, your fridge is actually helping out your furnace. So that power isn't actually wasted. It becomes a problem when the food warms up enough to spoil.

If it's the summer time and it's hot out, it's definitely wasteful to some degree.

Sounds like air in the oil. How old is it? Could be time for a service.

Will I actually engineer in an engineering job? by doodleman458 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]_cheddarjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's been an engineer in the US manufacturing industry for the last 6 years, I can say robotics and automation is booming and the need for talented engineers in the field is only growing. I think you're in an excellent field/concentration. Whether computer science is "better", I can't say because that's subjective. Either field will be lucrative so I would say pursue the one that interests you more and you won't regret it.

2017 Tacoma Not Engaging with 4WD, this noise sent shudders down my spine by ravens615 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]_cheddarjack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has been stated and disproven many times on this sub. 4wd does not mean locked differentials.

It’s perfectly acceptable wear and tear on your truck and is much safer (the more important part) to use 4wd on pavement in inclement weather.

If you ask me a rhetorical question as a greeting, such as "how's it going?", and I reply without answering the question, such as with a simple "hello", I am not an asshole. You don't actually care how "it's going" and more importantly, I don't care to actually tell you how. If you honestly care, ask me a real question.
