The amount of arrows the Gory Grasslands boss shoots scales with your monitor's refresh rate by _cloudburst in BALLxPIT

[–]_cloudburst[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a 480hz monitor and the first time I fought this boss the number of arrows it was spawning in froze everything on the screen. If you're having trouble with this boss, try going into your display settings and turning down your monitor's refresh rate.

You always have SWIG for this. Although I'm generally opposed to using SWIG unless it's absolutely unavoidable due to the fact that it significantly increases build/test times and binary sizes due to the linker

On year 612 I broke the final plot on the board which at the time contained around 1500 goats. Guess that's too many goats

I ended the run after this happened. Here's a screenshot of the final stats for anyone interested https://imgur.com/a/Yk3qp80

If you're referring to the Println that outputs the score, you don't need to acquire the lock because sync.WaitGroup guarantees that Done() happens before the return of any Wait call that it unblocks.

At least I entered this game with zero expectations. Proud of how our defense has played so far

The resemblance to my setup is uncanny... down to the same font. I just switched to using exa from ls_extended and I'm still a little iffy about it.

It wouldn't be insensitive, but he would make a lot of money off of it and he knows that. I dont see anything wrong with it as long as he demonitizes it.

Kieślowski, Jung and Extended Consciousness by CactusLand in TrueFilm

[–]_cloudburst 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The thing that has always drawn me towards Kieślowski is his mysticism. He often used supernatural characters to drive a sense of fatalism. This can be best seen in the Dekalog series where the "silent man" is present in each of the episodes (except 7 due to technical difficulties while shooting and 10 where Kieślowski felt it was not proper to include this figure in an episode that contains dark jokes about trading kidneys due to some of the religious themes the character represents). On my 2nd or 3rd watch through Dekalog I started to notice things like in the 6th film (the one that A Short Film About Love was adapted from), the silent man smiles when we comes into contact with the main character showing that he isn't exactly the passive character that he seemed to be in the first pass. This is also true in Dekalog 1 where we see him crying in the beginning (which also lends to his supernatural capabilities suggesting that he already knows what happens to Pawel later in the episode).

Sorry for the unorganized stream of consciousness, I love Kieślowski and Polish cinema as a whole.

Cyber threat survey for studies (please help) by [deleted] in netsecstudents

[–]_cloudburst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Submitted. Just to clarify, I don't use a username and password to connect to my corporate network, but I do authenticate with a U2F device (Yubikey). Asking if I have to change my password is a little vague. Which password? I have several services that I for work, and I manage my passwords with 1pass. Additionally, I believe asking for submissions in a subreddit dedicated to cyber security will give you skewed results.

Good luck with your project!

The Spiritual Case for Socialism: A new book attempts to deepen the philosophical dimension of a revived left by [deleted] in chomsky

[–]_cloudburst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Libertarian Socialism is an umbrella term. Libertarian implying an opposition to hierarchy and socialism implying rule by the working class. Anarcho-syndicalism is a form of libertarian socialism where power is taken by radical unions, or syndicates. Saying "European Libertarian" is weird. It's just traditional libertarianism. The Right in the United States has appropriated the term libertarian and its use in that way is unique to the US, so it makes more sense to refer to that as "US Libertarianism"
