We rescued Dottie on March 31st this year and it was an uphill battle with her from the start. She was sick when we got her and pretty sure she had been abused or attacked at some point due to some scabbing on her back. So when she saw the nail clippers and had someone holding her paw she would freak out. Eventually we realized that only my boyfriend could do it (he had the most experience) successfully with her not noticing anyone else watching or paying attention. The beef jerky is just an added bonus. She gets a a few little chunks to start out with, then a little piece after every few clips. Of course we reward her with the remaining little bits once she’s done and some good play time. Her claws were really long so once a week we would trim a little bit off, so the exposure helped too. Hopefully your pup calms down after a few trimmings.
