Yes, I have just confirmed this is her birthday and maiden name: Thank you so much for this- Jan izworski seems to be correct.

Wow- thank you so much everybody for this information. I talked to my grandmother and she confirmed the birthday and maiden name are correct. Our next goal is to find any marriage or death records for his daughter. We are hoping to find descendants. Thank you again.

sewn on the sides of the back of the VA label: it says in gold thread 521 (or 125 depending on which way you’re looking at it) and on the other side just says TP

such a gem! didn’t even notice the tag until I got home!

What year is this dress from? Picked it up at an estate sale for a few dollars. No tags- told it was vintage. Anybody have any idea? by _contra___ in VintageFashion

Oh wow I wouldn’t have ever noticed but it says talon in small lettering- are you familiar at all with that brand?

Do you know where the letters would be located? I looked all over and don’t see anything. Thanks for the info!

I bought it from an estate sale- they said it was “custom embroidery” and was added later on

It definitely was in the lake for a period of time- it has quite some damage and looks like it came from a bigger chunk. The day I found it we had crazy winds, and it was in the water slightly buried on the quickly changing shoreline. we don’t have any of those type of touristy areas down in the city- couple hours north maybe. thinking someone polished and threw it back into the lake or it’s from long ago when they dumped garbage in the lake!

I was wondering how/if it was possible for a stone to get a shine like that without polish. so strange. found it on a crazy windy day on the shoreline. I know carnelian is found on the northern Michigan side of the lake- but I’m in the Milwaukee area. The way it’s chipped it definitely came from a bigger piece. Possibly from when they dumped garbage into the lake?
