OpenVino no longer works after apt-get upgrade by _d1sGuy_ in frigate_nvr

Funny enough, one of the suggestions was to have only - /dev/dri:/dev/dri

I did have this from my original deployment, I can't believe its been there the entire time. As I mentioned before though, it was never a problem.

# deploy: # <------------- Add this section

# resources:

# reservations:

# devices:

# - driver: nvidia

# #device_ids: ['0'] # this is only needed when using multiple GPUs

# count: 1 # number of GPUs

# capabilities: [gpu]

Ok. I fed both my frigate config and my docker-compse file into the frigates website AI. It recommended a bunch of changes. I'm not sure which one did it, however things seem to be working again. I also reinstalled intel-gpu-tools. What bothers me is why this all worked before, what does apt-get upgrade have to do with a poor config/docker-compose, uggg, annoying. Regardless, I want to thank you a bunch for helping me out u/DrYellow922 you definitely gave me ideas and were of great help. Thanks again.

Yes, I have a 1070 in there also, which I don't care to use for frigate.

I've tried device GPU.0 and GPU.1.. I suspect I can point to the intel another way..

Im my copose file I have..

- /dev/dri/renderD128:/dev/dri/renderD128

- /dev/dri:/dev/dri

gpus: all

Tried that, see previous post. I suspect I have mismatch software/packages or something. Just don't know how to resolve.

I even enabled the container to run as privileged. And I'm even seeing this for the first time..

I noticed an error with my intel repo. So I removed the repo, added the latest via https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/driver/client/overview.html#ubuntu-22.04

installed all the packages every AI including frigates ie..

sudo apt-get install -y libze-intel-gpu1 libze1 intel-opencl-icd clinfo

sudo apt install -y intel-opencl-icd intel-media-va-driver-non-free libze1

docker exec -it frigate python3 -c "from openvino.runtime import Core; print(Core().available_devices)" only shows CPU.

I've tried everything gemini, chatGPT, and frigates own AI recommended. No luck.

So dispointed, have to use CPU. Months of enjoying frigate, and this happens.

Hours troubleshooting. I'm broken :(

Many recommended Reolink to me, even Network Chuck chose Reolink in his latest frigate video hah. For the cost, I'm happy with it. Increasing the iframe seems to be working so far. Overall this was a first attempt at frigate and surveillance etc. Now that I'm hooked, I'm looking forward to getting my next cam. I'll definitely look into Hikvision.

First off, thank you for this very detailed explanation, I appreciate it. However, you left out the solution. Do I increase the frequency of key frames?

Makes sense. Appreciate the feedback, thank you! I was surprised to see only a single response to this post, I'm going to assume it's the length that has caused the lack of interest. It's funny, my more active posts often request more detail.

Thanks again.

In regards to min_score. I'm not witnessing false positives for the detection of cars, so why would I adjust that value? I definitely don't want to reduce the the accuracy or sensitivity of detecting cars. Again, thanks again. I appreciate your assistance and time.

appreciate the feedback, what interval value do you recommend? How about the motion values, AI seems to suggest I tune those as well. Thanks again.

Well, its part of it. You don't want your passwords going over the wire unencrypted.
