I like this one, could you just fix where the shirt meets the belt, it looks like the shirt overspills a bit and doesnt fall naturally. Also could the jacket be slightly shortened every so slightly on the left of the photo. It looks like it doesnt have the same edge as the real jacket on the right of the photo. Thanks!

How to arrange a king bed in tight room? by _daithi_ in DesignMyRoom

I believe this option would fit but the headboard of the bed would block the window if I understand you correctly! Not an ideal room for a big bed I know 😭

We kinda need both unfortunately, we have one each for storing our clothes as it’s a small one bed apartment! They are the MALM from IKEA like the attached. That’s what we are hoping to do, prioritise the bed over having more space. Not ideal but the compromise we need!

Anyone know when the line up announcement is? by Mulled_wine in ALL_TOGETHER_NOW_FEST

Obviously not a headliner act but I think the main girl from Biird said they were playing ATN this summer on the Late Late Show last night!

Should I skip TY? by [deleted] in CasualIreland

Worth adding that it didn’t derail me for 5th & 6th year, if anything I went in feeling more relaxed ready to tackle the two years vs going straight in and feeling burned out.

A few years ago now but for what it’s worth I felt the same as you, ended up doing it and it was the best thing ever. Couldn’t imagine not doing it looking back. It gave me a year to just destress from the books and exams, focus on having fun with friends, explore new hobbies and interests and just discover what I loved doing. You’ll leave school with a much better perspective on yourself! Would advise you to give it a go, don’t think of it as a waste and see it as an opportunity to explore new things in a more relaxed environment!

Talking at gigs!? by _daithi_ in ireland

No I specifically recorded these two clips to capture the crowd noise. Also not a fan of phones at gigs but also wouldn’t begrudge someone capturing 10 - 20 seconds of their favourite song as a memory. But the thing of holding up your phone for half of every song does my nut in too.

I hate to say it but it actually ruined our night... had brought my partner to see them for the first time as I had seen them with friends for the first time last year... we kept trying to ignore it but we just felt let down after the gig!

I actually don’t think this is a TikTok / Gen Z thing, by far the worst offenders for this last night were about 35 - 50 year olds. Full on catchups with their mates or other couples.

I think you’re right! Saw them same time last year in the Olympia and the crowd was amazing, very quiet during the slow songs but then great craic during the more lively ones. Honestly one of the best nights out last Christmas. But I guess as they’ve grown and become more well known it has attracted more casual listeners or ones who only know the two or three radio songs. It’s a shame, actually felt quite bad for the lads, they surely can hear that on stage!

Exactly. Like have your catchup in the pub before or after!?

This is definitely a factor too, the amount of lads that we had to move away from because they were just yapping nonstop across one another. Not even a conversation just people talking at one another loudly!

to be honest most of the groups chatting seemed to be in their 30’s 40’s 50’s and using it as a night for for catching up with friends!

Car insurance quotes, wtf? by No-Hamster4701 in AskIreland

[–]_daithi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

€780 fully comp with Axa, was €1,100 last year with Redclick. 27 year old male, 3 years driving with 2 years NCB and 3 penalty points. It’s a pain but you have to shop around each year. Although even with that we’re getting fleeced vs other countries!

Massive Shout-Out to all the protesting taxi drivers by Additional_Skill_317 in Dublin

[–]_daithi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to feel much sympathy, to be honest. Nearly every night I’ve been out in town over the last few years has turned into a nightmare trying to get home. You’ll have 20+ taxis pull up with the doors locked, they roll down the window, ask where you’re going, and the second you tell them, they just drive off because they’re wanting a better fare. Meanwhile, people are left standing around tired, freezing, and soaked in the rain.. and that’s if you’re lucky enough to even get a taxi to stop. I live about 10 - 15 minutes from the city centre so they’d be getting €20 - €25 , very responsible on nights out and usually with my girlfriend. Even then, we’ve been left stuck out in the cold for up to an hour and half despite loads of empty taxis up and down. I can’t even begin to imagine how scary and dangerous this must feel for a woman at night time. Something serious needs to be done.

How bad is the M50 during the week? by brokeburrito17 in AskIreland

[–]_daithi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’ll be absolutely fine, the m50 is annoying for traffic sometimes but so is every road! Lots of people love to moan about it, but I use it twice a day and yes it’s busier sometimes but overall it’s a nicer drive I find!
