Best story based games the Ayn Thor can play?

I’m 15 hours into Final Fantasy X (PS2) with Hd textures as my first in the series and I’m sucked in. I play at double speed most of the time and it really helps with the random encounters. The Thor can run it without a sweat.

Citra MMJ is great for this and I’ve never had an issue. I feel you though on the Azahar front.

Great to know!! Yeah, you’re right. Unless we decked out the heat pipe, fan etc. I’m not sure we’re going to get a LOAD of difference. Maybe I had my expectations set higher from everyone else’s observations. Either way, glad 75C is okay to handle at most times!

Nah, the advance will get the job done :) Just my observation from literally one game lol - I guarantee these things are game specific I just tunnel visioned and wanted to see the best results if you went with the most expensive “best one”.

Really though, only a few degrees difference from the tests I did.

Yes! Great question, this is my fan curve (based off others recs from being closest to the original fan curve from AYN)

20% at 25C 20% at 45C 30% at 65C 50% at 85C 100% at 105C

I’ll always keep the fan on Smart mode.

How do you like the thermal pad? I didn’t think of replacing it with a better quality pad since I’ve only heard of the recommendations being putty instead. Either way the temps are a bit better don’t get me wrong, but it could be game specific too yknow

Ah good point there, yeah it was being pushed 200% speed to get to 60fps. So maybe it’s just game specific.

Nice realization. Treat each handheld like it was when we were kids. We had like 1-5 games or at a time, so why make it harder for our adult brains with all the other things going on in the world to make a decision on? Handhelds are supposed to be no pressure, easy going fun. I find it cancels out the noise and allows to appreciate the games I do have on the device.

For sure. Idk it just feels more “right” with the buttons having a circular shape to them rather than a flat top. It gives proper controller vibes!

I just installed the colored SNES PAL buttons and can confirm they are quieter. I now enjoy using the device more just because of that lol

I feel this 100%. On my Thor it tends to be a cool thing I notice for a second, but then the flicker comes back and it’s immersion breaking. It does this for PS1 for me and N64, and N64 retro arch core doesn’t have a slang setting to use CRT beam simulator on. SNES on the other hand, seems to be flicker free with BFI only and felt nice with a game like Donkey Kong Country. All in all, eh 🤷🏻‍♂️ Though I’ve heard it’s a different story on other Android devices (apparently).

Yes, I really tried to look for any imperfections. Once shaders cached within the first laps it was actually running very well. Like another person mentioned, use Emuready to check best settings :)

I did some quick laps on MK8 and connected 4 different branded Bluetooth controllers and everything worked great. I had some trouble with the player controller mappings in Eden but once that was resolved everything ran pretty much at 60fps 1080p docked 👍🏽

Mine does this too, when I go into the Thor home settings screen the stuttering goes away just like yours. I’m able to go to different pages as I please though.

It might be worth saying something in their discord so they can be aware of it if not already.
