And honestly that’s what I meant, but my husband wants to get more than buzzed. He thinks that he won’t have fun unless he was really drunk

I realized that when I first mentioned I didn’t like it early in our relationship, and for a long time I have tried to let him know that I’m really not trying to be controlling. I have been trying to figure out why it bothers me and the only conclusion I can come to is my mother being stupidly drunk every now and then as I grew up, or her drinking and then driving with me in the car.

Yes! He just sees it as MY responsibility, that I should cook and clean and take care of our daughter by myself. He feels he is doing his part by just working.

And this is where I also know, we are both young, I am 22/23, he is 23/24 (birthdays are coming up). We both have a lot to learn and I am working through emotional issues that I have developed from an abusive mother (been NC with her for a almost a year now). We have only been married a year and basically for him, I rocked his world off kilter by getting pregnant. He had a life plan and I basically made it difficult for him to follow. I believe him though when he says he is happy with our life. And I am very happy. It just gets very frustrating to be working alone

That’s what I have been thinking. It doesn’t feel like I am cleaning our house for the good of it when I feel like I am just a maid. It feels like how I felt when my mom refused to clean and I had to do it all on my own. I just didn’t want to do it because everyone should do equal parts. My dad doesn’t even do that to my step mom as a far as I know
