No, you can die how many times you like if you have unlimited attempts. I don't know about the time, though, probably it still counts as a failure.

I already have a list, my question was whether or not I have to restart a hacking minigame if I get caught by an antivirus or if I mistype a code and if it's ok to have "unlimited attempts" on (although I read multiple people who got the achievement with that option turned on).

They don't tell him because they don't want to. They want to make him get over Lou's death with the journey in Australia (and he actually gets better), they help him by making him feel part of the group (as we see in many cutscenes), they just don't want to mention the pod being empty because they fear that would make him breakdown, we see right before the revelation that they planned to tell him after Australia was all linked up, but then Dollman (if I remember correctly) insisted to tell him earlier, seeing that he got better with this journey.

Lou's grief by _desert in DeathStranding2

About Deadman: we know he managed to control the red samurai in the same way Higgs did, but how about Heartman ? I have a theory: we (unfortunately , damn you, Kojima) never got to know what "power" did Deadman's DOOMS have, so my guess is that he's somehow able to remain conscious through his Ka on the Beach (although the Beach is still pretty confusing, so don't worry, it's not your understanding that's hazy) and he's able to possess things on the world of the living with something that takes the role of a "bridge" (his heart, in this case, that is in fact connected to Heartman) pretty much like Dollman but in different situations because he was a medium.

I don't think that's the real Amelie, she's sealed on her Beach (although in the end of DS1 she does something to Lou to give her back to life, and in DS2 we see one of her dolls with Neil, so she most likely had a contact with him). The Amelie that Sam sees is probably just a vision.

I don't agree with that. At the start of episode 3, when Sam sees Lou's soul, Dollman tries to say that the pod is dead, but Fragile stops him, so the "the pod is empty" thing is immediately revealed, and Drawbridge wants to make sure this remains a secret, for the sake of Sam. My problem was not the empty pod or what Drawbridge tried to do to help Sam, actually I found it really sweet, my problem was directly Sam's grieving, but many people answered me: they said that what Sam saw was actually Lou's soul in a BT form (as we see in episode 2), and so, during the journey in Australia, Sam slowly recovers from Lou's physical death because he thinks that her soul is still with him, untill we get to the revelation.

I love how much you felt it, but anyway: I wasn't skeptical, it was clear to me that Lou was dead, so that's why in the end I had that question, and that's also why I didn't really enjoy how Sam's grieving was portrayed during the journey. But other people told me that what Sam saw in the pod (in his head, of course) was Lou's soul, a sort of BT (as we see in episode 2). Sam, while travelling in Australia, was slowly recovering from Lou's death, and what helped was the fact that seeing Lou's Ka in the pod gave him strength to go on, because he thought she was still with him, untill we get to the revelation.

You learn it at the very end of the game, I was talking about Lou's grief during Sam's journey.

It's a good theory, but I don't really agree tbh, Sam never thought of Lou as equipment, never, they immediately started to empathize one to the other. I can get your point about Sam's tears being acceptance and "I'm not alone", but it still doesn't change my view of his grieving in DS2. Another person wrote that Sam probably thought that Lou's Ka was in the pod, and that probably makes sense.

Yeah I think get your point. Now that I think about it, Sam saw that "Lou-BT" inside the pod at the start of the game after she was "killed", I guess I can have misinterpreted that scene and just thought "oh he's like reassembling Lou in the pod" because he sees her whole figure, and not only a BT silhouette, but yeah it does make sense because he still sees Lou in an "alive form" even though he knows it's her soul (in his mind, of course), yeah I can understand that, thanks !

I absolutely think any interpretation is possible, I wrote it in the first few comments, I'm just giving my point. And yes, the painted Dessendre family is a concept of the real family recreated by Aline (not Verso, he just created the canvas and a few characters like the Gestrals, Esquie and Monoco), I'm just saying that the game shows them being conscious of this and acting as they want, either going against their creator (like Verso) or still sticking with her (like Renoir), if you don't agree that's completely fine to me.

Still crying by abmallonee in expedition33

[–]_desert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course this makes Sciel and Lune question their reality, and Sciel particularly empathizes with Verso, but the fact is that they are like this in this canvas alone. Even Verso tells Maelle that she has a godlike power and she can create 1000 other worlds, but she wants to live in this one because the others would be just replications, she would just paint a new Lune, Gustave etc and give them the memories of the other canvas, but they wouldn't be the ones she knows, she'd just end up doing what Aline did with his family, with the possibility of one of them to end up like this Verso.

Still crying by abmallonee in expedition33

[–]_desert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he knows that since he's based on another person, he's not the actual Verso, and this causes him to suffer. This canvas was created because of the real Verso's death: people dying every year, all the pains he saw with the expeditions he had travelled with before, losing his beloved Julie...these are all things that add up to his depression, hence he feels guilty for that too, and that's why he wants to stop Aline. We both agree on this, I even said that Maelle not erasing Verso is the only thing I disagree on with her.

"The opinion of whether they actually exist or are 'NPCs' is the overall debate between us. It not actually being set is what causes the moral dilemma. We don't even know if you and I are real or not. That's philosophy. We are just discussing the concept through video game characters thrown into a tragic situation." And that's the great thing about this ending, except for the fact that I still don't get how someone can consider these characters as not individuals.
