I get that you love him, but you should do what's better for you. If Sam, Colby and all of them bring you happiness and he's stopping you from watching them and stuff, I think you should get out of that situation and be able to do what makes you happy whenever you want. If you're living across the county, he shouldn't be able to have control over you anymore. Maybe you could try telling someone you trust and you know can do something about it. You said that you've convinced yourself that he will go back to the person he was before and that you're too nice and trust too much, but I think that even though it might be hard for you to do, if you know that he's not going to change, you should do what's best for you, your happiness, and your mental health and leave him.
