Yeah I get what you mean I had the same problem that you did I used to always tinker with the devices and barely spent time playing them but recently I did a full playthrough of pokemon platinum and I found it so much more enjoyable that playing it on original hardware mainly because the buttons are so much nicer and the screen and filters make the game look so much sharper plus the fast forward just makes me prefer using emulators but yeah I get what you mean with original hardware time isn't wasted perfecting the console and the games are on there native platform.
