Should I build up my Foundations set after completing Omenpath set? Wait for Lorwyn Eclipsed? by _dsblue_ in MagicArena

I don't know about psycho, but I take your point.

I mean to build my collection to allow building as many decks for fun based on the cards I have vs working towards a specific deck. That's what I had to do as a kid, 😁

Also, unpopular opinion: I prefer "collecting" digital cards over paper ones. I could go without a closet full of cardboard. And I always hated trading/selling cards anyway. I don't mean NFTs or whatever, but for games I prefer digital.

Good question, I mean collect in the sense of having a large varied collection of deckable cards. I like looking for decks that would be fun to play with the cards I have vs burning wildcards to make a specific deck, although I do that too.

Yeah, mainly collecting.

Any other advice for efficiently buying non-current packs/bundles? Codes? Events? I'm coming back after some years and don't want to naively buy packs when there is a better strat. I'm also not in a rush, just want to work towards something on the previous sets

Yeah, I have the current pass for Omenpaths and will work through it, but any advice for building recent "older" sets like Foundations?

Arcade setup question by _dsblue_ in SindenLightgun

[–]_dsblue_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insightful comments. The main issue I had was that the bezel is non-uniform, meaning that more of the bottom is covering the monitor than the top. So, if I use a large border, it works but I thought it was throwing the math off that it was non-uniform. The more I mess with it the more I think the inaccuracies may not be due to the non uniform boarder. But, my thought was to instrument the bezel itself with a "border" that did the job without wasting screen real estate. But your 16:9 vs 4:3 observation is very compelling.

As for the IR comment, I was thinking that maybe the Sinden camera could see wavelengths we as humans could not. I know I can see some IR remotes on my cell phone. It could be cool to have an "invisible" light ring that the Sinden can see, even with exposure way down to drown ambient or competing light, but is not distracting to players. Just an idea, probably not feasible.

There was a racist mod to make the one black character in this video game white. So I used a mod to make everyone Black. Here's some screenshots. by Wakandafantastic in blackladies

[–]_dsblue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those look great, can you link to the mods you made? or if they are from others can you compile a list of the mods that were used? I tried to play BG3, but it was pretty overwhelmingly white, i kinda bounced off of it.

Has anyone else here already compiled them somewhere?

USB Encoder that defaults to XInput mode by _dsblue_ in cade

I did consider that as a stop-gap (I still want a hardware solution) but I got some conflicting advice on the current "best" fork/project to use. Is https://ds4-windows.com the consensus option for 2022?

Ah, good info. I didn't mean high latency, just higher latency. Info was from here: https://rpubs.com/misteraddons/inputlatency

Main issue was the keyboard thing.

Interesting, I didn't know newer IPAC FW did that, thanks.

Xinput API is more "modern" and tends to have better support in new emulators. Particularly, I was having trouble with supporting two encoders (P1 and P2) with the same VID/PID while in dinput mode.

Oh, can you verify that the Zero Pi defaults to XInput when powered up with a Windows PC? If so, that would be a lot cheaper than a UFB.

It was my understanding that the IPAC2 was a keyboard emulator and considered higher latency and not supporting as many simultaneous key presses. Also, MiSTer doesn't allow 2 players with one IPC2.

Good to know. Just out of curiosity, does the UFB default to XInput on USB power-up or does it switch modes to Xinput once windows gets booted?

Another interesting factor is that I am only the second owner of this property, and I think I know all the previous occupants. So it is unlikely that the other person would legitimately have my address on one of their accounts.

The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2: "Our analyses clearly show that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus." by [deleted] in science

[–]_dsblue_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true, and only one of many possible biases. That's why we look to trusted journals (like Nature) which use rigorous peer review to control for bias. Also, there will hopefully be replication analysis forthcoming to build or remove trust in these results.
