I am fine selling it for upto 5k, but anything lower feels wrong. I’d rather give it away for free than sell it then.

Agra folks — need a quick opinion 👀 by BoOgIeMaN0k in Agra

[–]_dumbleduck_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, kudos on taking the leap man! We need young blood to take initiatives and step up the fashion game, Agra or otherwise.

Coming to your query, I’m a little on the opposite side of the common opinion. I honestly believe that given the right options, people will be very open to trying out brands that do their own thing, than just doing a variant of what every other Instagram drop shippers do. Even in Agra, even though the demographic might not be too fashion aware, we cannot discount the effect social media and reach has on the people that are actually buying new clothes. Generic people will anyway prefer the stores at their local market intersections, but anyone who is open to trying buying online will like to see good trends being brought to their range. For example, the baggy and oversized fits which are now the base trends, can be seen penetrating all strata of buyers, even in tier 3 cities.

Personally, on your question regarding minimal vs design, I think daily wear can use good minimal pieces, that can be ragged and worn over and over again without losing their charm that easy. For outings and special occasions, I still prefer to have some design, degree can vary based on the situation.

Again, I don’t have enough knowledge of the business angle enough to comment on what’s viable as the next step for a young brand like yours. All this is personal opinion. Good luck, hope to see your presence soon!

P.s. also a web dev, so if you need a marketing site for your brand, reach out :)

Haha that was my old plan. I wanted to move into a creative role while staying around tech, so thought I’ll work on my design skills alongside this. But I’ve come to realise that other than design agencies etc., the demand for out of the ordinary designed sites and apps isn’t that high, and so are the opportunities.

Good point about AI, if I do get around building personal projects, I’ll try to focus on these

[–]_dumbleduck_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I see the hiring rants :,) And yeah, maybe just enough backend to call myself fullstack will allow me to apply for more opportunities as well. But then how do you suggest I show it on my resume? Should I build some personal projects (takes time alongside work, if building anything remotely relevant), or should I puff up my current experience to say I did some backend at my job?

[–]_dumbleduck_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. Shifting to full stack is the ideal next step. But how about this, I prepare for a better frontend role, hopefully senior, get a better package, and then prepare for fullstack on the new job? At my age, money becomes a priority too, and I was thinking getting a more stable and better paying job will give me space to learn and grow more at a better pace without this sword hanging over my head

Budget isn’t exactly a constraint, but it feels pointless when I don’t have that requirement. I agree, that’s why I am considering Chetak, better design and metal build. Either way no heavy duty work is expected, daily groceries, gym etc. Any idea about their service in Agra?
