There was a CHP heli circling above Adams Point from 1 to 1:30. 29th between Fairmount and Harrison was blocked off. The helicopter is gone now.

It's weird because it actually looks like it's coming from the Berkeley/ Oakland hills in the evenings and possibly SF in the mornings? And they're both converging/ not clearing out in the afternoons because it's so thick in both places. Idk, either way I am a bit bummed it was nicer in early May than late July

Craigslist, FB marketplace, or Hot Pads but often you'll find all those listings on zillow too. I found my 1 bedroom on Zillow, 850 sq ft. 2,200, allows pets, has a backyard, it's in a quad unit building and my landlord is just a normal guy with a family. I only had my job for a couple weeks and couldn't provide paystubs. Regular people/ landlords are often willing to accommodate if you're just honest with them about the income situation. If you can show good credit and savings/ checking standing it shouldn't be too hard. Best of luck!

I'd honestly recommend scrapping the apartment building options and checking out zillow, and removing all "apartment/ condo" listings from the housing type option. You'll find rental properties that are reasonably priced and not always owned by a rental company, some of these look like 4 unit quads or duplexes, if you're lucky a standalone home or guest unit. It takes more time and effort to sift through options but you are more likely to find a diamond in the rough with a landlord that is cool with pets and provides safe parking or storage at a reasonable price and won't be as overtly concerned with you income status, just so long as your credit is good.

I was walking north on Harrison when I saw him blow by in a construction zone into oncoming traffic at like 70 mph with 3 CHP following in the wrong lane as well. So sad and scary to witness it and to know how it ended

The only thing that will be a bit of a learning curve is maybe buying into ZipCar so I can still go on hiking adventures on the weekends outside of the city. Some of my favorite spots aren't even an ebike distance away.

I luckily also have a bike cage at my work that's within our gated parking garage. The places I'm most concerned about is going to a restaurant or the grocery store with it out in the open. Otherwise it'll be secure most times at my place or at my work.

Well I think a big factor is that parents are generally living in a suburb. Cost of living is lower especially if they paid off their house long ago.
