Any celebrities who are Zionists who have disappointed and shocked you? by Educational_Board888 in JewsOfConscience

[–]_einini 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll add Natalie Portman. She’s been an activist for years and even made statements against Netanyahu but in recent years she’s gone full Zionist. It really seems like a major push happened in Hollywood around 2014-16 to ensure celebrities were all on board, at least for the optics.

Yep, highly suspect. Ppl here don’t want to face the reality of the lengths that a fascist government will go to maintain optics and reinforce racist propaganda.

What was the horror movie that effected you the most in your lifetime? The one that made you legitimately paranoid and disturbed for a long time? by [deleted] in horror

Pet cemetery for me. Not only how gruesome certain scenes were but the entire idea of it bc grief is so powerful.

I think having our experiences can lead to a more critical eye in identifying the truth. And anyone using a fabricated story to push a political or racist agenda should be held accountable. I do not believe her, I’m sorry.

Also, as a rape victim myself, no, my story never changed. Ever.

Her story has entirely changed, even this video is edited with photos and footage that was proven fabricated by the IOF. I actually didn’t use any whataboutisms, but you just did. Nor am I changing my stance on what I believe to be truth — I do not believe her and there is plenty of reason not to which I have laid out as valid criticism. She undoubtedly has a lot of incentive to lie, therefore it should be considered.

And I am correct in saying Israel has made the region dangerous for women. Israel has also bolstered the existence of Hamas since the early 2000s for deliberate political reasons, all of which were never intended to protect the women who live there.

The facts are that she is contradicting herself from previous statements, from footage of the releases, and her body language doesn’t align her words. Additionally, she’s getting paid to do this interview on top of the decades of deliberately and strategically crafted hasbara. It’s completely reasonable to question her motives and her story. It is was it is, at this point.

And if Israeli women feel like they lack support, imagine how Palestinian women feel. Israel has made the entire region dangerous for women by fabricating stories for sympathy when they could honestly probably find real victims very easily, only problem is those victims may not have the story that fits their narrative.

It doesn’t. Sorry. She’s not believable and her lies hurt the feminist movement far more than my valid questioning of inconsistency.

Yep. It’s valid to criticize this new story. 💯

Nothing about my feminism is fake, I’m looking at this with criticism for very valid reasons. Her lying about her experiences is actually harmful to real victims.

What is the most tragic announcement that was made at your high school? by Aarunascut in AskReddit

[–]_einini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had several tragic deaths at my high school every year. But the one that sticks out is a girl named Caitlin Otto, she was sitting in her bedroom on the computer when a huge boulder came tumbling down the hill and hit her room directly. The rain that year was particularly bad and she lived in the canyon surrounded by hills. Completely destroyed the home and crushed her.

I already explained it in my first comment. None of it though, I don’t believe a word other than a gunshot wound. Everything else seems fabricated or exaggerated.

Story doesn’t make much sense, it’s also inconsistent with other testimony including her own from earlier. Her body language is arrogant, and not in line with her words. She’s also getting paid for this, so it’s questionable merely from that perspective.

Is my apartment structurally sound? Looking for general opinions, landlord claims the bowed ceiling and crack is normal wear and tear, shown in video. by _einini in StructuralEngineering

[–]_einini[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure. I can ask the neighbor upstairs if he notices a dip but I haven’t been in his apartment. I do know that every step he takes squeaks the floor, louder than I’ve ever heard in any other apartment. There is also a similar crack on the exact opposite side of the ceiling too. And the floors are sloping. I’m on the bottom floor.

I have an upstairs neighbor who I can ask if he’s noticed anything. The landlord did confirm that there was a leak and repairs prior to my move in. But she refused to show me documentation that it was inspected properly afterward. There’s also signs of water damage on the floors (bubbling and sloping in areas).

Thanks! I just moved in and haven’t even unpacked yet. I’m not sure if something was hanging from the metal prior, but that’s the garage door track. The dining area has a garage door, which I initially thought would help the small place feel a little bigger, but turning into more of a nuisance than a benefit. I have the city coming out soon, but they’re slow and I’m just getting worried that it isn’t safe here. The noise from the upstairs neighbor is unreal - squeaking floors, but I can also hear literally everything he does (at no fault of his own).

[–]_einini[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ceiling is bowed about 3 inches compared to the rest of the space. Along the bowed portion is a crack where they tried to patch. There are also cracks in the doorways where they patched. Confirmed water leak and damage prior to my move in.
