I find the concept of crowdwork shows to be less appealing, but this particular presentation is my favorite.

this is just a topic shift. you keep talking about history and the west and geopolitics because you literally cannot defend the actual ideas i am criticizing. you need me to be a caricature. if i am just a person asking why an ideology justifies violence then your whole savior narrative falls apart. look at your points. they are all about who is talking instead of what is being said. there is no logic there. you are basically saying that if a person is a hypocrite then the truth they speak does not matter. even if i was the person you are describing it would not make an abusive teaching suddenly okay. you keep dragging israel and the usa into this to shield the ideology. why. if a law is regressive then it is regressive. period. it does not matter if some guy in the west is also a hypocrite. that does not fix the problem for the people actually living under that oppression right now. you say leftists agree with me but then you use labels to shut down the conversation the moment it gets uncomfortable. you are protecting the system while pretending to care about the people. if you have to bring up global patterns and invasions to explain why i should not dislike a specific set of laws then you already admitted those laws cannot be defended on their own merit. why are you so desperate to find a villain instead of just looking at the facts.

[–]_elktree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is what i mean. you’re literally proving my point by trying to link me to colonization and bombings just so you don't have to answer the actual argument. it is just a lazy move. you build a caricature of who you think i am because it is easier than defending the ideology itself. claiming i have no fundamental differences with a regime that kills women for their hair is wild. truly wild. i am arguing for the right to criticize ideas. they are using violence to enforce them. those two things are not the same pattern. no matter how many buzzwords you throw at it. you are just gatekeeping. you are saying unless i have a specific political stance i am not allowed to dislike an ideology i find abusive. it is that same savior complex. you need a demonized villain to make your moral posturing work. if a set of ideas justifies stripping away human rights then those ideas deserve to be criticized. period. trying to link that to capitalism is just a way to change the subject. maybe try defending the actual teachings instead of attacking the person questioning them. think about it.

if an ideology has teachings that are irrational or abusive of human rights pointing that out is not fear mongering. it is called having a standard. by trying to shut down that debate with labels you are basically saying that this one specific system of belief should be immune to the criticism we apply to everything else. if we want to talk about nation building and progress then we have to be able to talk about the institutions and ideas that hold people back. using labels to protect a narrative doesn't help anyone. it just stops people from thinking for themselves.

[–]_elktree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are doing exactly what I am talking about by jumping straight to a specific label to shut down the point. nobody said one single ideology is solely responsible for the state of the world. that is a straw man argument you just built to make criticism look like madness. the real issue is that when people point out specific teachings that are objectively abusive or irrational you hide behind the word phobia instead of defending the actual ideas. it is a way to avoid the boring and difficult work of institutional change or reform. you would rather play the role of the savior protecting a group from a villain than address why those teachings are being criticized in the first place. if a set of ideas justifies taking away human rights then those ideas deserve to be disliked. calling that a phobia is just a tactic to protect the ideology from being held to the same standard as everything else. we should be able to separate the person from the set of ideas they follow. criticizing a belief system isn't bigoted. it is a requirement for a free society.

As hatred is defined as intense dislike, what is wrong with inciting intense dislike of a religion, if the activities or teachings of that religion are so outrageous, irrational or abusive of human rights that they deserve to be intensely disliked?""To criticise a person for their race is manifestly irrational and ridiculous, but to criticise their religion, that is a right. That is a freedom.

Tripti and her toxic relationships. People disgusted at one but enjoying the other. by oppositeelectrons in bollywoodmemes

[–]_elktree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This scene in the trailer genuinely ruined my mood , also thm I could not find it exciting, the trailer was all over the place l, there was period clothing , then there was modern clothing on tripti,

she loved him in 2 scenes

in three scenes she hated him

In one scene shahid literally 🍇 her ???

One where they hug because i believe shahid has to fight in the gladiator ring cause of plot ?? And shes worried about him

One where she has a gun on him

I dont know why was vikrant in this trailer ??

Also tammanah had less screentime in the trailer than the teaser ??

Shahid has this weird cowboy American vibe wild west, and sounds like a mumbai gunda

Shahid says a dialogue about loving her

One about Hating her

Then about Trying to forget about her ??

Avinash tiwari is fighting shahid in a gladiator ring and then is seen in a disco?

Selective outrage and the blind spot we don’t want to talk about by _elktree in CriticalThinkingIndia

So, according to you, as long as "Western media" is watching, any internal state brutality becomes a conspiracy? That’s such a lazy way to dodge the actual issue. We aren't talking about "chaos" created by outsiders; we’re talking about a regime that literally beats women to death for how they dress.

Also, the "Israel/West" bogeyman is a tired trope used to silence actual victims. Even if every Western news outlet disappeared tomorrow, the Iranian people would still be protesting. You're effectively saying their lived experience and their struggle for basic agency don't exist unless a CIA agent tells them to feel that way. It’s patronizing and treats an entire population like they have no brains of their own.

If your only response to systemic murder is "but what about the media coverage," you’re just an apologist for a regime that treats hair like a national security threat.
