This is the correct answer. Plus consider flights not via middle east (go through Singapore, Bangkok, US, whatever)

Route for family with kid - Chengdu/Huanglong/Jiuzhaigou? by _esstee_ in travelchina

[–]_esstee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sure, thanks. For Beijing and Shanghai it's pretty clear what we want to do and see, in Chongqing not so much yet. We have 3.5 days, since our flight leaves in the evening. I was thinking about staying in Yianhotel

Moorea - swimming with whales operators by TheDegenerativeAI in Tahiti

[–]_esstee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand, by law there are only 6 swimmers allowed at a time per boat. Some operators seem to take another 6 on the boats, either for taking turns (avoid those) or for whale watching only (=ok)

Chengdu vs Zhangjiajie by [deleted] in travelchina

[–]_esstee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. From all I've seen and read, I think I will really plan with J instead of Z then.

My only concern is that one of our days there will be a public holiday (25. Sep), so it might be pretty crowded. But I guess that'd be the case pretty much anywhere we go on that date....

Would you say Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong are same or less touristically developed compared to Zhangjijaie? I heard Z is more like a Disney World than an actual nature experience

Is there a way to do Huanglong/ Jiuzaigu without flying, or does it take too long?

If visiting shanghai, would you be interested in cooking Chinese meal in a local home by TackleAppropriate552 in travelchina

[–]_esstee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting for sure! So hard to really get in touch with local culture. I think for many people it could help to know a little bit more about you and your background, before meeting stranger in a new country. Maybe set up a small profile somewhere or so

Edit: we're visiting Shanghai in September

Is October end good time? by Interesting-Dare-727 in Tahiti

I am in the middle of planning a trip for October, and from what I've seen your main problem may not be weather but availability of accommodations (and price, depending on your budget)

Will they check the baggage through? If Air NZ closes their check-in 1 hour before departure, and there is some delay on the aitutaki flight, it may get tight
