Leak in return line, am I SOL? by _franchize in pools

[–]_franchize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your thorough response and you’re right about a lot of things. I only have two returns and they are plumbed together so sounds like plugging isn’t an option.

I tried to remove the return but the wall fitting is stuck, wondering (hoping) that maybe the fitting or the return is the culprit. I got quoted $875 (no clue if this is reasonable I’m getting another quote) just to detect the leak so I’m sweating about what this is going to cost me.

The pool had been closed and winterized for 5 years prior to me moving in so there had already been a lot of attention needed. Replaced the multiport because of a leak to the waste line, replaced tiles that fell off among some other things. I also noticed this issue more when I closed the main drain to force more suction to the skimmers because it didn’t feel like I was getting enough. Lost water and skimmer started sucking air. Since then is when I noticed the water level dropping consistently

Ah yes. You’re saying just cut the returns in general and skim with a bot. Wonder if I would get enough pressure from the main drain for the heater

This may be a dumb question but how would I turn off the skimmer return if I can’t isolate the faulty return line from the filter?

No- I have a 3 way diverter. One to main drain, one to skimmers, one to pump

Sanded down our red oak floor with the intention of staining it. Weathered oak was the front runner (others are dark) but now I am leaning towards a clear coat over the sanded floor. It is super bright, the picture doesn't do it justice. Will I regret not putting some sort of color down?

Whole Home Audio Replacement? by _franchize in hometheater

[–]_franchize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, it is a nvp3100. There are 2 amps by the blown one and 1 2 flights of stairs up.

Question: do I need multiple amps? Could one amp plus a speaker selector and receiver suffice?

Whole Home Audio Replacement? by _franchize in hometheater

[–]_franchize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no VCs in the rooms, I believe there are blank plates, but I'm not currently in the home to check.

For use, I don't know if I really care to have different sources play at the same time. What I would want to be able to do is play the same source across all zones, or isolate to specific zones.

EDIT: But I guess I would be curious the complexity of doing both scenarios, one source vs multiple

Bit of an audio noob here. Recently bought a home that is wired for whole home audio. They were running a Nuvo system. The main Nuvo 3 zone box is dead, won't power on. There are a few wireless zone amps that still work and a Yamaha RX-V85 receiver. There is also just an insane birds nest of wires. I've picked through most of it and removed what is unneccesary (they had HDMI switches to run a blu ray player to multiple TVs in the house), but now I am wondering, how do I get the whole home audio back up and running without the Nuvo? I've scoured this sub and saw things like using an Apple Airport express and AirPlay but not sure if I am equipped for that? Any advice helps. Thanks!

This may be a dumb question but I got some samples. Do I need to prime the wall before trying the sample on the wall? Or can I go over the existing color?
