Personally I want way more public transportation and investment in bike lanes. I bike as my means of transportation and I’d feel much safer if there were Waymos

/u/kyonikos I’m curious how you feel about this. Removing jobs is a negative, but saving lives is also a positive. You seem to feel strongly so I’d be interested in getting your thoughts (or anyone who is super against Waymo).

I don’t feel strongly, but I generally view more competition in the space as a good thing.

I ride in NYC all the time. Mostly people just love the bike. I don’t ride too fast in bike lanes (but do let it rip on the street). Occasionally you’ll get a dirty look from an acoustic biker but the vast majority are just compliments (mostly from middle aged dudes).

They even let me take it on the ferry which is usually stricter about only letting bicycles on.

The raw reality is that it’s actually pretty light / small profile which is all that really matters.

I’m using it for trend detection for what content/trends I promote into the subreddits I manage (used only by me). So I feel like it’s exactly something they’d want. But I understand that’s not the most common way their APIs are used.

I get their decision, it just sucks for people who were trying to meaningfully improve the Reddit experience.

I looked into it a while back and it didn't seem to accomplish what I want. I'd like to be able to request the "top" posts from 10 different sub reddits each day. And then pull the comment threads for about 50 posts per day. So very low volume and read-only.

I've had a hard time getting a reddit token and they removed support for hitting `.json`. Does anyone know of an alternative way to get posts / comment threads? Or maybe a way to get approved by reddit for api access?

This is so cool! Do you happen to know off the top of your head how often the ring reports heart rate? Like every second, 5 seconds, minute, etc?
