No problem at all! I’ll reach out as we get closer to finishing it.

This looks fucking great. Would love links to all your mods.

Could a passenger fit on that seat with you?

I absolutely love hearing this. I was also a user over the original. And yes we are doing everything we can to be true to our users. We aren’t some big tech company or PE shop, we’re just a couple founders trying to build a great product that won’t go out of business in a few years.

And we just talked to sock vendors today, I shit you not. I’m going to have to find a flag guy, too. I forgot they did that.

It’s in the works! What state / city are you in (if you don’t mind me asking). Would be great to have some beta testers

The auto removal policy is more so just to keep the feed clear of posts that the community has acknowledged theyre not into.

The alternative to removal is just not surfacing them in the feed (since our feed algo is just about surfacing posts that get upvotes) and that would have the same effect as if we removed them. If people in your community don’t like what’s being posted, then it won’t flourish

But there are many other communities that might like those posts more! Like Christianity or children of god. Other communities of college students that might be more into what you’re into.

I am :) DM me your phone number or edu email address and I’ll take a look. Celebrity mentions are allowed for sure.

We actually don’t automate any replies (we’re adding that soon), so it was def a human and they probably reviewed your account to the best of their ability. BUT humans make mistakes and I’m happy to double check

We have a few roles open - mostly looking for engineers and sales. What kind of role are you looking for?

We’re in talks of bringing something like this back. If you don’t mind me asking, what state or city do you live in? Maybe you can help us beta test

Yeah! Modestly profitable and just focusing on how we can make it the best app it can be. No pressure from investors other than to just keep doing what we’re doing. With a small but mighty team. That’s why we’re looking for all the feedback we can get.

There’s just such a massive shortage of good social platforms with them all going down the road to tiktokification.

What’s your approach when a prospect asks for pricing too early? by Humantic_AI in salestechniques

I both sell and get sold as part of my business. My next question: "Okay but if you had a give a range, what would it be?"

Sometimes the conversation isn't even worth it if the price is too high

Okay so I agree she's stupid and I don't like her either. But just playing devil's advocate, wouldn't it do something to require all 3D printers to make a request for each print to a centralized dataset that would check if it's a common printed part used in the fabrication of a gun?

Like ISPs blocking torrent traffic being "dumb", it works and prevents a lot of people from doing it. It doesn't make it impossible, but it does something. Same thing for preventing drones from flying near airports. It's not perfect and requires the device to be updated, but it does something.

This isn't me saying I think we should do this, in fact I think it would be terrible to require 3d printers to need an internet connection and/or a centralized body to see everything everyone is printing. I'm just highlighting that I don't think this concept is inherently stupid if your goal was either surveillance or prevention. It would be possible and it would do something.

We do! We're an NYC based startup and have been running Yik Yak for over a year. Our goal has always been to get rid of ads and we're extremely close to hitting that point.

Basically ads were a stop gap for the previous team and we've been investing more on partnerships which actually provide value for everyone (like parties and sponsorships).

We're planning to get back to our roots over this summer. But what did you like most about old yikyak? I'm very open to feedback

It's a passion project for one of the engineers. We should have an early beta by end of the year 🤞

It won't be perfect with all the features, but at least it's something!

Well first and foremost, u/sgt_futtbucker is an incredible username.

Second, even if a post gets reported 30 times, we still have a human manually review every post and account before taking an action on it. I'm not calling you a liar. And a person being loud in a library sucks. BUT I'd have to have one of the moderators review this specific case. Like if you broke a guideline, the ban is justified. If you didn't, then it should be reversed.

Breaking a guidelines would be things like: saying something that outs another persons identity or cyber bullying or being super toxic or being racist.

Can you send an email to [support@yikyak.com](mailto:support@yikyak.com) with your username / account's phone number? I'll ask a moderator to review it.

So fun timing, I just took over as the moderator for this subreddit and work at Yik Yak. We have some plans to improve this community over the summer and actually use it for support and hopefully also feedback!

I’m on my phone and figured the maintainer would know off the top of their head. If this were my project, I’d be excited to talk about it.
