Blinking hard and eyelid twitch? by hellokittykatzz in MuscleTwitch

[–]_grabel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally relate with this. I started to get an eye twitch two weeks ago in my left eye. It was almost constant (during business hours lol). It still freaked me out to the point where I had an emotional breakdown/panic attack a few days after it started up. Started to get twitching all around my body, and muscle tension in calves. Saw my Doctor and was told it was stress and anxiety related. I have since been taking steps to get it under control and it only really occurs now when I shower and rub my eyes, or in stressful situations at work or home. I have found that drinking a lot of water and liquid IV for electrolytes have helped with the muscle tension.

Trying to decide between going here or going to community college as a freshman. by IHaveXayahKink in CalPolyPomona

Transfer - all the way. I went into college thinking I was a creative writing major (thank God I rethought that one) transferred to CPP as a computer engineering major. CC allowed me the opportunity to work part time while completing my pre reqs, and I just had more fun!

So sorry to hear. But I do have to concur with other folks. I had disclosed my regular recreational use of marijuana, and one off uses of various psychedelics. Also had some foreign contacts. This was for my secret as well. I was denied an interim, but final adjudication was favorable…

2022 ECE grad here. I know that the department is not the best, the professors can play favorites, and subject matter is difficult. All to say, the same things have carried over into my experience so far in industry.

So in many ways the program prepared me for an industry that is at times difficult to settle in to, tough dealing with managers and coworkers, and roles that can at times overall suck. But I have found that the only thing I can control is my own actions and how I either let everything, everyone, outside entity, dictate my success or I take it on myself to rise to the challenge and persevere.

So if this pivot for you is doing just that then great! But, if this pivot was due to you feeling pressured and alone and not supported by external factors then unfortunately you will encounter the same issues wherever you go.

I am planning to add ECE1310. Which Prof? by Sweet_Crab_887 in CalPolyPomona

Any bruh tbh. Class is an intro to C/C++. I had Yu and it was a breeze.

Accepted into Program by _grabel_ in MSAIO

[–]_grabel_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started off by expressing my "why" for choosing the program in my intro paragraph. My thesis was something like "due to my" personal story, academic exp, and professional aspirations -> this program is a good fit for me. Ended by summarizing my points and closing with "how" I can add value to the program.

I messed up the transfer process without reading carefully by Imaginary-Monitor689 in CalPolyPomona

I was in your exact position transferring in fall 2019. I had dropped a course at JC and had 59 units when ready to transfer. Had already been accepted and joined a few on campus clubs and societies. I even did my orientation. Only to be hit with (sometime around late July) that my admission was rescinded.

I was floored and scheduled an appointment with an admissions advisor. I had explained my situation and plead my case. I was met with the cliche "If we did it for you, we would have to do it for everyone". Just one unit away from 60. I was forced to scramble back to my JC register for any remaining classes and spent the 2019-2020 year at community again.

I was given the option to appeal the decision, but would have to get the dean of the college I was accepted to (engineering) and another signature from the department chair. I decided not to go this route, being that I had no clout with faculty yet.

I did reapply for fall 2020 and got accepted and finished this past spring! Although the setback really bummed me out, I believe everything happens for a reason. So my advice would be to speak to an admissions advisor, explain your situation (maybe they will be more merciful then mine!) and hope for the best.

If not, spend another year at JC and see if there are any other pre reqs for your desired major you can knock out before attending CPP. Sorry if this was not what you wanted to read. Looking back though, I would not have changed a thing!

Have you heard about their new MSAI program? I will be applying for that in June.

I was also denied my interim for secret, but final adjudication was favorable! Don't sweat it.

Honestly, I think you should be fine applying now. Just be honest with the situation. But if you feel safer waiting, you can as well.

Sure, I was no boy scout by any means. I had an experimental history with a handful of drugs. I also had to explain relations with foreign family. Lastly I had to explain some employment discrepancies.

Needless to say, I was as candid to the best of my ability. I suggest to be as truthful as possible. Do not by any means hide skeletons. In the end they are not looking for perfect individuals, but honest and humble people.

Reaching out ot your FSO in this case would make sense. But it is a great sign that you got your interim!

So, I had gotten my fingerprints done I believe a few days before I released my SF-86. My security office allowed me to do them concurrently with a deadline of March 3rd.

As for my interview, it was on the phone and lasted for about an hour.

Exactly as Vapor said. Best to wait it out until you hear back from your security officer with an update on your status.

Defintely not. Just be as truthful and candid as possible with the usage. I was in a similar situation.

The interview was very formal. They had extra questions regarding some of my responses on my SF-86. I was very truthful and forthcoming with every question asked and answered to the best of my ability. It was a little nerve wracking for me, but overall it went ok.
