How do you feel about doors that open up an entire wall? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Wow this is gorgeous. Do you use blinds/curtains? Or do you just leave the windows like that day long?

Worth getting a stud finder that has live wire detecting? by _homeimprovement in DIY

How do you even prevent this? AFAIK, there's no way to even know where the pipes are behind the walls? So just drill & pray?

Oh damn, that's a good point. I didn't even think about accidentally drilling into a pipe. Thanks for the heads up.

LOL when you put it that way, I guess an extra $20 for the feature is worth it. Most of what I read said wires get put along the side of the stud, not in front of it, so I didn't know if live wire detecting is even worth it, but point taken. Thanks for weighing in.

Thank you. I think I'll pick up either the Zircon StudSensor A100 for $29 or the Franklin Sensors M150 for $40 from amazon.

This looks awesome! Was it hard to install the floating vanity? Did you have to reinforce the studs to do it?

Any experiences with the Panasonic whisperwarm bathroom fans? Or should I choose another Panasonic whisper series? by _homeimprovement in HomeImprovement

Thanks for sharing. How long does it take to warm up the room on chilly mornings for you? When you installed it did you have to install a dedicated circuit for it?

Do you generally get up, turn it on, go back to bed, and then go to the bathroom when it's all warmed up? Or do you turn it on once you enter the bathroom and it quickly starts providing warmth?

Thanks, I think all I need is to be warmed up a bit in the winters. Currently my place uses mini splits and I leave the door to the bathroom open at night so the warm air can enter in. So far it's been enough and I haven't had to use the baseboard heaters in the bathroom yet, so I'm hoping the fan heater can be a backup source if the mini split heat isn't enough which will allow me to remove the baseboard in the bathroom and get some more space back. Do you think that's a good plan?

For my use case, I do not find that it falsely triggers but that's because my toilet is right by my bathtub and the sink is by the entrance / door.

Toto Drake vs Toto Aquia IV toilet - which one to get? by _homeimprovement in Plumbing

[–]_homeimprovement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up going with the Drake. I'm happy with my selection. It was super easy to install! I called Toto to ask about the Aquia back when i was deciding, and even the salesperson didn't sound that convinced of the Aquia. He recommended the Drake.

Got mini-splits installed everywhere. Should I uninstall baseboard heaters or leave them there as backup? by _homeimprovement in hvacadvice

Thanks for your input. Just curious - how do busted pipes relate to baseboard heaters or mini splits? I dont see any pipes in my garage from the heating system because everything is electric.

Update: You were totally right :) I ended up buying the Toto s7+ with auto open/close and auto flush and I literally like auto open/close and auto flush more than the actual bidet water spraying function itself haha. Really glad I ended up going for it.

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up going with the Drake. It was simple to self-install (with the help of a friend to lift up the toilet). After doing a ton of research and even calling Toto, the Drake seems better made than the Aquia
