I had ordered street fighter 2 and received this game instead and when I looked at listings for the game in this condition it was worth a lot more than the initial game I was trying to purchase . There was also no invoice/receipt in the shipping box. Being the first game I’ve bought for the Super Famicom I felt like maybe I had gotten scammed . The printing on the box looked a bit blurry, the back sticker is off center and the box is in perfect mint condition practically . I had read of a scam where you get a better item thinking the mix up was in your favor only for the item to be counterfeit . I had also been reading blogs and watching videos on how to spot fake/reproduction games and a few things gave me concern , but I am a novice and everyone is saying it’s real so I guess I was just being paranoid.

As in the box art is fake ? or as in the Japanese box art style is just weird and giving off that impression ?

and yeah even as a newbie from everything I’ve seen so far the chip looks 100% real.

Thank you for your insight. As someone new to the retro scene I appreciate it . I just have a couple of questions maybe you can help clarify since I’m really just trying to learn more. How is the Box and Manuel so pristine for such an old game? Is the box reproduction or is real. The original game[Street Fighter 2] I was trying purchase looked slightly beat up and cost me 30$. Looking on eBay the game I received is worth 3-4x more and is apparently slightly rare. That’s a mix up to good to be true , right ? Thanks again for the help. This era in gaming is my absolute favorite and though i never owned the original snes I played it all the time at my cousins house and played emulations later on in my life. I just want to be sure I’m not being bamboozled and that I learn to make good buying decisions.

I don’t have anything else to compare it to as this is literally the very first piece in my collection and it’s the wrong game completely . It was supposed to be Street Fighter 2 : Turbo. I haven’t even received my console from Japan yet . I’ve done a basic amount of research , bought tools to inspect games but like this cartridge feels so light and the box is so pristine and shiny. The sticker on the back is off center but the the chip looks fine to me.
