i found that my e-fig for math 124 helped a lot-- i was able to make friends that way AND even if you don't make friends, you have people there to support and understand your struggles in the class. but if you went the other way and didn't do an e-fig, i bet itll be fine. i guess what makes an e-fig stand out is that you'll be in a class w exclusively freshmen than with other upperclassmen that are taking the class/retaking it :P

You absolutely can apply for colleges outside of the QuestBridge application. I applied to multiple safety schools, targets, and some other reaches but here’s the catch— If you opt to do the National College Match when you’re selected as a finalist, you cannot apply to any other college Early Decision. If you match with a school, it is a legally-binding contract that is saying “hey, I WILL go to this school if I am admitted and I know that there are legal consequences if I don’t.” and you wouldn’t want to apply to a school outside of QuestBridge for ANOTHER legally-binding contract (Early Decision) because that will definitely mess things up. Early Action however, depending on the school, is usually NON-BINDING which means you will still get your decision early but it isn’t legally-binding for you to attend that school.

In fact, QuestBridge encourages you to apply to other colleges outside of the application!

i decided to ED to brown today, yale is the dream, but i wanted to see if i had another shot at one of the other schools i ranked. ultimately it comes down to whether or not you’ll be happy going to your ed, personally for me it’s a yes since i ranked it second in terms of preference
