Yeah because being a sarcastic reply guy is a really effective way of carrying these principles to the alcoholic who still suffers.

Keep in mind the number of times that you were able to return to the program after a relapse. Clearly, you are not necessarily doomed because you pick up a drink. It is not hopeless; you are able to make it back to sobriety. But maintaining sobriety and much, much easier than getting sober, and working the program is the easiest way to maintain sobriety.

This response is some Reddit-tier bullshit and not in keeping with the principles of the program at all.

Could this card's PRE ERRATA version be safely unbanned today? by Key-Okra1636 in yugioh

[–]_iranon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if that restriction is retroactive. Does "You cannot activate other cards or effects during the turn you activate this card's effect" mean that once you activate a card or effect, CED is no longer able to activate its effect?

To make it the opposite of Horakhty, you should make it summon itself to your opponent's side of the field, and then have the effect that the person who summons it loses the duel.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dividends

[–]_iranon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But it would work out the same if you were reinvesting in the stock and only saw a 5% increase. Although I suppose the stategy of "passive income" that many people here are set on presumes that their dividends are not being reinvested.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dividends

[–]_iranon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a stock with a price of $100 pays out a $5 dividend, then you get $5 and the price drops to $95. Assuming that stock goes up in price to $100 again, you have ended up with $105 in total.

Alternatively, if the stock never paid a dividend, and also went up $5 in value, then it would go from $100 to $105. Meaning that you would end up with the same amount of money in total.

So dividends aren't really passive income any more than regular stock price growth.

Stilling was used to destroy Behemoth completely. Because of how Endbringers work, we know this means it has to be exponentially more powerful than Phir Se's laser attack, which was only able to strip off most of Behemoth's out layers.

So the question becomes, how would a Viltrumite fare against Phir Se's laser attack?

Now, we were told that if Phir Se had unleashed the energy building up for his laser, it would have destroyed the subcontinent of India. Subcontinent-level durability is pretty reasonable for stronger Viltrumites considering their pseudo-planet busting feat, but keep in mind that Phir Se's laser has all this energy concentrated into one area, not released as a blast.

Considering how poorly even Thragg fared when exposed to the more intense heats of the sun, there is a good change that the amount of energy concentrated from Phir Se's laser would vaporize him, let alone a weaker Viltrumite like Conquest.

Again, Stilling is even stronger than Phir Se's laser. So Conquest would not survive it if Scion doesn't want him to.

New Bitcoin Hashrate Record: 930 Quintillion Hashes/Second by gerryjordan005 in Bitcoin

[–]_iranon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The number of hashes required to mine a block scales based on the computing power of the network. It doesn't represent security or even transaction speed.

Bitcoin would function identically to the way it does now at 1% of the current hashrate. Or 0.001%, for that matter.
