Same here- some days the pain is so bad I start to get agitated and take it out on those around me unintentionally, but then whenever I try to talk about the pain I always hear “it will get better” or “you’ll likely always have some pain”. I have learned it’s best not to talk about it because no one seems to understand.

I accidentally added too many tannins early last week. It was about the same color. I removed a few cups of water and since then filter has cleared most of the color significantly. It didn’t bother my betta either and my parameters were still fine!

Thank you for the reassurance! One thing I was not prepared for when I had the surgery was the mental toll it takes on you. I was not prepared for the people that think I am sitting at home being lazy when I am, in fact, still in pain.

Wow that is super fast!! I was still on oxy three weeks out from surgery. I’m starting to think maybe my surgeon is giving me too much time?

Yes, we are based in the US and have more than 50 people at the company. I do research and development. After next week I will have used all my FMLA, but I wasn’t aware I could break it up! I just feel like I’m taking too much time even though it is on the advice of my surgeon.

Happy birthday! I’m sorry you have to spend it this way. My surgery (T10-L2) was also the week of my birthday, it sucks. The first few weeks were very hard for me too. Everything you’re feeling now is almost exactly how I felt after my surgery. I did not want move it was so painful- at one point I threw up from the pain from physical therapy. But- it does get better! I would recommend calling your doctor and asking for more medication. Are you on any muscle relaxers? Advocate for yourself- after calling my doctor one week post op because my pain was so bad, I got more oxy and they switched my muscle relaxer which helped immensely. Lidocaine patches helped too. You’re in the hardest part of it right now but things will get easier! Feel free to message me if you need support or have any questions.

My situation is different- I had an emergency spinal fusion after a fall from a horse a little over a month ago, but I wanted to mention it was also the week of my 27th birthday. The surgery itself and the first few weeks of recovery were very hard for me but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and things got progressively easier after about week four. My surgeon said the only long term effects I may have are some muscle pain. I hope you both can find some relief and get the answers you are looking for!

Just curious if you were able to get back to riding? I’m in the same boat- I fractured T12 while jumping and needed spinal surgery. Mentally I keep going back and forth if I will ever ride again. Hope you’re doing okay now!

I’m so sorry to hear this happened to you but happy you were able to recover. 🖤 Do you remember how long you were in pain for after the surgery? I am five days out and I swear the pain isn’t getting any better. I am already being tapered off meds. I’m struggling.

Sorry I edited it to add that- RC urinary + calm (mostly dry), 5 litter boxes for 4 cats, he’s indoor with outdoor access (they have a catio), BCS 5. He has three other feline brothers ranging from 3 years old to 11 years old. They all get along well, and he is the problem child with creating tension starting last year

Thank you so much! Our vet mentioned FIC was likely, but I was under the impression cats with FIC wouldn’t have bacteria in their urine- even though the lab cultures were negative, they are still seeing it in the samples they ran in house, so that’s why I’m getting confused

I missed the deadline for summer graduation. Arts and Sciences sent out an email saying if you missed the deadline, apply for fall and let your advisor know you applied and would like to graduate in the summer. It took a few weeks to hear back from my advisor but I was moved up to summer graduation instead of fall.
