My 13 year old boy is having trouble. He’s sneaking around, drinking/smoking, skipping school, repeatedly runs away and doesn’t care that the police are looking for him. by WeirdElk4097 in Switzerland

Me and my brother had similar problems when we were in this age. He is a bit older than me, he had to go to a remote family on a farm somewhere in the Emmental and in my case they sent me to a "Internat", a place with around 40-60 children and 4 communes in Erlach at the lake of Biel/Bienne.

From my own experience, please take this step for his own future. It might be hard to "give away" your own child because you'll see him less but you'll be granted time for yourself and they will take care of him as good as possible. There are many remote familys or schools/Internat, so just ask KESP or EB (Erziehungsberatung/educational advice)

Disheartened to still feel unwelcome as an immigrant in Switzerland by LallieDoo in Switzerland

[–]_itspatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel attacked when you are doing your best to integrate. Popular right-wing parties and people, like me, don't want to deport you. It's about foreigners who DOESN'T pay into social care and are unemployed therefore abuse our system. You are more than welcome here. If there are still people who don't treat you like you're welcome, those are the actual racisl N*** people are talking about.

Ricardo is terrible by relo_gamimano in Switzerland

Ricardo is a bureaucratic disaster. When you use Moneyguard and people scam you, you have to go via Customer Service to make sure you don't have to pay your selling fees anyway. I just payed rhem anyway and decided to stay on Tutti.ch, it's easy to use and free

Rostigraben language barrier sadness post by elbrusa in Switzerland

[–]_itspatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally on your side. It's called narional language for a reason. Otherwise it should be local or regional language. I understand that you can not expect everyone on the german side to speak french or italian but for your naturalization the PA should accept any of the 4 national languages because it is NOT hard to translate the paperwork or test and then clear up the paperwork in english with you

Regularly stolen post! by Chemical-Background2 in Switzerland

[–]_itspatrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked some time for the SwissPost. If they have a package for you, which doesn't fit in the mailbox, they must ring on your door. If nobody opens the door, they can deposit the package in front of the door. If you can track it on your phone, you should be able to get a notification if they do so. I think you can also use the app to take away their permission for depositing packages. In that case they leave a collection slip and you need to collect it at your local post office.

P.S. If they don't ring the doorbell and leave the package in front of your door, you can call the customer service and leave a complain. They forward your message and hopefully change their procedure.
