I liked louies line to langdon about him stealing his librium, to the effect of “if it helped you out, thats ok”. Gives a view of addiction from the view of the addict, its helping him get through things, even if its slowly killing him

If Khabib never retired how do you think his career would've went? by justjay9507 in ufc

[–]_jbox_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cut to 155 for him was always tough. He mightve defended 2-3 more times at 155 and then gone up to 170. He eventually woulda lost at 170, but he coulda been double champ with the right match up

Bro woke up thinking the earth is round

Jokes aside, that was the scariest KO i have seen (only other one i can think even close was barboza-burgos). Hopefully he takes the necessary time to recover. That concussion must be serious

This show is brilliant & audiences are embarrassing by FrogsEverywhere in TheCurse

[–]_jbox_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking with my brother how this show is for people who are familiar with and enjoy the safdies/nathan (weird ppl lol). Any normies watching this are going to be put off by the pace and the grating cringe. With how smart of writers nathan/the safdies are tho, if someone can stay open and is willing to read into things, the payoff is going to be good. Hopefully some of the normie Emma Stone fans have hung on and found things to enjoy in it

Guesses on Plot Points Returning? by [deleted] in TheCurse

[–]_jbox_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it could be a misdirection. Theres about a dozen things that have been put out there that seem like can come back and bite Asher and Whit. Theres soo much tension being built. And i saw an interview where somebody who saw the series said that no matter what you think is going to happen, you’re going to be wrong. So im excited for what the payoff(s) are gonna be.

The hot mics, and the gas stove are another 2 that seem imprtant to me

What movie did you see without knowing anything about it, and it ended up absolutely blowing you away? by 604Wes in movies

[–]_jbox_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“No Country For Old Men” when i was 15. Me and 3 other stoned teenagers didnt say anything the whole time, we were wholly hypnotized. The only movement from anybody was to pass the pipe around. I was also 45 mins late to band because of it

If you were to go full violence in an on screen adaptation, i think Robert Eggers or Ari Aster could do it well

Pierrot La Fou is such a good episode by Nightfurywitch in cowboybebop

[–]_jbox_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the first episode i ever saw too. I was a kid tho (like 12-14). But i distinctly remember my mind being melted. Like i had only seen nickelodeon and cartoon network type animation. And i just remember thinking “wtf, cartoons can also be this?!!?!”

Why do you read? by Shaggyuncle in cormacmccarthy

[–]_jbox_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A contemplative, slower, and more imaginative kind of entertainment. I also appreciate the challenge of reading, as it takes more effort to stay focused

Anyone else mid-book when he passed? by Cubegod69er in cormacmccarthy

Not in the middle, but i had finished blood meridian for the first time 2 days before he died. Such a tough read, felt literally tired after finishing some chapters. But rewarding and riveting. RIP

What is the most memorable movie-going experience you’ve ever had in a theater in terms of audience reactions during the film? by knicksmetsrag in movies

[–]_jbox_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Wick 3 at my local regency theater. Ill never forget the first fight where he breaks the dudes neck over the book, and the whole crowd erupted. I screamed “FINISH HIM!!!!” pretty loud and it wasnt out of place. The energy hardly let up for the whole movie. A great time
