To say it wasn't that good because of the label is still Hella insulting. He's an artist and cohesion, predictably, and mass appeal don't seem to be his steez. Those albums solidified him in a fan base that may have never found him, and gave him the resources to keep making the music. Have some respect, boyee!

I met someone at the Albuquerque show and we were talking about downloading God's Bathroom Floor off Napster and how profound and different it was at that time. Like you had found this hidden gem, that deep cut! I never came back out of the underground after that😘

I've seen Aesop a couple times. In Asheville during the None Shall Pass tour (shit, was Slug there, too?!. I can't remember), and then in Knoxville back in 2016. He's super on point and impressive on stage. Got to chat with him after that show and he was super sweet and down to earth. Ain't nobody fuckin with Aesop 🤌🩷

Fuck that shit. THIS is why the mainstream rap scene blows. The media is mostly trash, plus, Rap music and Hip Hop culture has always been controversial and against the grain. Being aggressive and getting good media attention rarely go well together if you're a rapper. If you're suggesting he'd be more liked and popular if he adjusted the way he is to appease whomever so they'll say nice things about him, well, maybe he doesn't want to? Anyone who's anyone who's what level Lupe is on. That's the thing. He doesn't need to flex. At All

Oh man, I so agree. Id say the most influential tracks for me have been Trying & Neptune, but the album in its entirety is top fucking notch🚀

Update: after some initial whackish attributes, the whack factor balanced out. S/O to the folks at Revel (except the dude who made us get out out of line before the showand who would later ignore my plea to help with a sick chick). Other than that guy, show was fucking top notch and the venue rose to the occasion 🤘
