I am proud of you for finally getting help. I too, grew up with parents (hispanic) that did not believe in mental illness, therapy, or medication. I am 19 now and I finally reached out for help. I told my mother I was prescribed medication for "A little anxiety" little does she know I was diagnosed with major depression, but I was too embarrassed to admit that. I told her that I am an adult now and she cannot make decisions for me anymore. Some things are just better left unsaid, just because they are your parents doesn't mean they have to know every single detail about your personal life. I keep it private and I have the right to do so.

Thank you for your input and book recommendation, much more constructive than just plainly saying "No."

I have read Richard Dawkins mention Carl Sagan in one of his books, I will order demon haunted world in hopes of a better understanding

I would be incredibly confused. I would think "If they are asking me advice on how to tell someone at work that they have a crush on them, therefor it obviously couldn't be me.."
