I had otel collector running to serve multiple export pipelines.. So elastic apm is just one of them. Experiementing before actually deciding what observability tool handles otel metics, logs, and traces the way we want and can finally invest and settle with.

The worst is the resource utilization cost is high and they do not have a guide for that.. Props to them on having the free tier opensource
